.Odyssey. Posted April 18 Posted April 18 It seems her latest release is very polarizing for both fans and the general public. What do you think is next for Taylor? Where does she go from here?
ttsmu Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) She should go home for at least 4-5 years. We had enough already. Edited April 18 by ttsmu 9 3 1
Strawberry Bubble Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Let's wait for today's release; the leaked content has poor quality OP: I think she should give Max another chance. 3 1
Cruel Summer Posted April 18 Posted April 18 The general public has not heard the album. The only place she needs to go after this is back on tour. 1 7
WildAmerican Posted April 18 Posted April 18 a mid taylor album has never stopped her before, y'all need to quit playing 1 9
Virgos Groove Posted April 18 Posted April 18 To find a new producer. Her work with Jack has ran its course. She needs someone who can push her artistically again. Slowing down musically (or at least curating it better) would also help. No reason for these 20-track bonus deluxe behemoths. 2
Sheep Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Haven't heard it yet but a huge portion of her work since 1989 has been melodically/musically very weak and carried by lyrics and production, when one or both of those doesn't connect with me she goes from a pop genius to literally the worst pop girl. I would love to see her get back with somebody like Max who has killer instincts when it comes to actual musicality and can make the most out of her writing, Jack has not been doing that for me at ALL since folklore. 1
wastedpotential Posted April 18 Posted April 18 mmm well she'll probably need to be in Paris next month to start the Eras Euro leg
illia Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Ditch Jack Antonoff, finish the tour, take a 5-year break and release her magnum opus

liquiddiamonds Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) Is it doing this bad? She better beg Sabrina for a feature so she can tackle a Espresso remix at the end of Poets and save its chart run Edited April 18 by liquiddiamonds
Achilles. Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Acoustic folk pop produced by T-Bone Burnett, Dan Wilson, and Brandi Carlile. 2
enchanted0 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) I don't think 4 year hiatus guarantees the quality so hopefully she does her own thing as she's been doing Edited April 18 by enchanted0
PrettyHurts Posted April 18 Posted April 18 she should find new and interesting producers and writers to work with
Cameltoe Chariot Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) She needs to go to the book store or take a class or something. This year has shown quite clearly that Taylor has reached the limits of her short scope of creativity - she's on Hallmark Movie autopilot and both the lyrics and the visuals are suffering big time... and paired with her money hungry tactics none of it feels real anymore. You're right about her melodies being weak, I listened to Midnights for the first time today and I was struck by how weak the music was compared to her other albums. Some songs were legit just interesting lyrics and okay production, weak vocals in her lower register and not much of a melody I get she wants to strike while the rod is hotter than ever but is it a good idea anymore if it's at the expense of her artstry 1
