This is basically why she flopped.

SDsffdsfdwsdfsdf yes she kinda set herself up with the whole "psychedelic" thing

Did her publicist not listen to the album? They should've banned the word "psychedelia" from her vocabulary

Certified rotten on page 214:

Listened to this thinking there'd be a bunch of Houdini's but I guess that was the only song she told Kevin Parker to add personality too :rip:

Bland as hell and half-baked. If you told me this was a Mabel or Anne-Marie album I'd believe you. She should have went all in with Houdini's sound instead of whatever H&M changing room music this was.

End of an Era and Whatcha Doin are THEE album tracks fr.

End of an Era is such a colorful vibrant quirky slightly latin banger and Whatcha Doin is a slick city-pop tinged Pretty Please x Levitating hybrid, just brilliant

I will be defending those two for years to come, yall can have the rest

Thank you for sharing this info. It is nice to hear about other areas in the world

She's by far the most popular pop star these days in the region.  Very close to Rihanna in terms of name recognition.

Houdini is big smasha here

Do you find some similarities between the sound of this album and DWTD? I kinda see some of it but I might be reaching :lakitu:

Sorry, but Billie has to be panned too for equilibrium in the pop world. It's only fair.

After listening to this more I kinda get where she was coming from with the little psychedelic comparisons ngl. There are a few influences here and there, even if the record itself does not try to be anything other than pop.

don't ask me why "Financial Times" is reviewing Dua's new album tho but yeah

Financial Times have had music articles since the beginning of time.

Same as Forbes.

Posted

End Of An Era, These Walls, Whatcha Doing, French Exit, Maria, Happy For You

Serve after serve

Once again, I don't see how does it matter

Forbes has been posting buzzfeed level articles about pop girls ever since they got exposed for reporting made-up figures about celebs :bibliahh:

She can always release Cool as her next single btw

She needs to release French Exit as a single to get that 16-week #1 smasha in Spain :jonnycat:

I love Billie but I just want her to flop so I can celebrate someone else losing for once

Well when you look at it they made those two hits in 2017 and 2019 respectively, we are in 2024, his recent output consists of those two Dua duds, recent Kim Petras lows or Leigh-Anne failed single. We are better off x

Well… he also did Olivia's Get Him Back, Troye's Got Me Started & Charli's Move Me - songs that are incredible so… :michael:

What happened to her?

She lost her touch for hits

Leaving TaP was a huge mistake let's be real, they pushed her everywhere compared to her having 2 performances this era and no new song on Today's Top Hits. I think they would've provided help on cleaning the album as she fought for creative control as well. :beatfreak:

FN had me on a chokehold for years now, but this is not it. It takes a huge nosedive starting on French Exit, and I don't see why you guys are foaming at the mouth at unpleasant tracks like Falling Forever. Aside from Illusion, the second half is saved by Maria. Neither do I understand the vibe she's aiming for sonically and aesthetically. I don't know what she was thinking.

IF it were a positive review you wouldn't have an issue with it.

I guess the definition of incredible changed with this rollout as well

Billie isn't overpromising and is keeping her cards to her chest like a smart lady, the good sis ain't getting dragged unless it's horrendous which it probably won't be

She started a reverse Future Nostalgia era. This is her "We're Good" era, her "Don't Start Now" era is coming after Radical Optimism: Remaining Optimistic Edition
