Marianne would be my choice. I think they need an outsider candidate. The GP is too fatigued with traditional politicians.

We need someone young, invigorating, and not completely out of touch.

Yeah, I agree unless an older candidate manages to totally capture the zeitgeist in someway. I would really prefer a candidate like Bill Clinton or Obama (not politically) but in that they are young, refreshing and charismatic.

Kamala Harris/Sherrod Brown as a ticket launched like in early 2023 with Biden announcing he was not running for re-election would probably have been the only combination that could have maybe beaten Trump (Kamala loses in all scenarios leading the ticket now and any Dem who'd snub the first black female VP by taking her spot on the top of the ticket following Biden would also lose).

Pete Buttigieg must be kept away from federal office at all costs. He'd lead to the right of Biden and maybe even Trump.

Lord help us all if it's Kamala...

Ain't NO ONE voting for her. Just look at her abysmal polling and approval numbers, even worse than Biden's lmao :deadbanana4:

Phew, glad I'm not the only one who realizes that about Buttigieg.

Elizabeth Warren would have been my vote, but I fear I'm alone in that.

He's a slimeball but I feel like Gavin Newsom or Gretchen Whitmer are the only ones with any sort of shot. Michelle Obama has already made it clear she will never run.

The way gays were stanning him while he openly mused with Maddow that bringing back military conscription was necessary to make young people patriotic again.

Not really in 2024. More recent polls have Biden with higher disapproval than Kamala, this is even held up in FiveThirtyEight’s aggregate of the opinion polling.

Is it too much to ask for Biden to croak of natural causes so an inspired pick can step up

I'd vote for Michelle Obama in a heartbeat, but she'd never run. They're clearly enjoying being out of Washington.

I voted for all of them.  I’ll take pretty much anyone else right now.

Where is Bernie?

Honestly, you could probably run anyone under 60 and they’d win in a landslide. Most people are just tired of the country being run by boomers (and some that are older than boomers).

I am all for hiring Julia Louis Dreyfus to play Selina as president in the role of president for 4 years.

Lol that ship sailed long ago. The only viable way would've been for Biden to pick a stronger VP in 2020, then within a year of inauguration announce he won't seek a 2nd term and make his VP the face of the administration so the public would already see them as the defacto President.

His 82-year-old ass isn't running.
