gwen stacy Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 (edited) My NYE Prediction: Dance The Night 3M-3.5M Houdini 2.8M Houdini need to remain stable it can be a sleeper hit + i need Training Season so bad it really can be a smash moment. 😔 Edited December 30, 2023 by gwen stacy
ahauntingnearu Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Still don't get why they took the long, dramatic drum roll out of the extend version right before the breakdown That's my only problem with it. Otherwise really hope this becomes the album version Anyway if my drunk ass isn't dancing to this on NYE then I don't want 2024

Navyofbadgals Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 anyways hoping Hitdini can hit like 2.4-2.5M.. it’s not added to a whole lot of NYE playlists. DTN could do 3M+ 1
austriamonster Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Houdini topped the Listener’s charts of Austria‘s biggest radio station Hitradio Ö3. This means that the song was the most-requested song this past week - it was requested more often than any Christmas song: https://oe3dabei.orf.at/index.php?pageID=202 On top of that, the song is slaying on every platform except Spotify in Austria. AM: #9 iTunes: #9 Shazam: #33 Spotify: #71 1

Also points at Hot 100 are kind of low Dua team need to do something to make Houdini snatch a new peak / Top 10

I agree but unfortunately that’s not how the world works and I feel like pop girlies especially will get dragged through the mud at every opportunity. Like do you remember the Die Young fiasco with the Sandyhook shooting… 1
halcyonday Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 i have a feeling TS is 100x better than this and has smash potential
Jonathan Cruz Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 They matched so perfectly The synth work in Houdini is so underappreciated 7

Didn't we fool ourselves earlier this year into believing DTN was responsible for them to not start the era earlier? And then they blame it on a war (even when there's some unending wars all around the world, just not as relevant)? And also the 'December/Xmas freeze' mess? This 'once X thing happens they're starting the era full force' is getting tiring. Let's admit the era is DOA and move on soon to the next one 1

LanaXtinaFan Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 It’s interesting they don’t really seem to be pushing this song very hard in the US. Focus seems to be UK. Maybe for the best.

Ivan_brit Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Reasons why Houdini will still be the single for at least 2 months - It’s her time finally - Vinlys on February 23 - February 2nd Agrylle Movie premier Dance The Night Award Season: January 7 = Golden Globes January 14 = Critics Choice January 23 = Ocars nominees February 4 = Grammy Award March 02 = Brit Awards March 10 = Oscars (if she gets nominated) Theres no point of releasing another song if it will Be eclipsed by Houdini & Dance The Night 1
glacier76 Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Dance the Night has a start the party energy, which makes sense as a first song for a NYE party. So, even if it’s not nominated, DTN as the musical choice to start an Oscars broadcast seems like a no-brainer. 4
Bloodflowers. Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 It makes sense to delay Training Season music video right at the height of a new conflict starting. However after a few months passing by, seeing fighting and explosions wouldn't be seen as insensitive because not everything is related with war + this story coming out making people bring them to their senses if there was such silly conclussion on their part. Genious Dua strikes again!

SayIt Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 “Houdini” Spotify: Global Chart (after Christmas) 26/12: 1,681,986 (+27%) 27/12: 1,908,977 (+14%) 28/12: 2,002,946 (+5%) 29/12: 2,129,510 (+6%) 1
IBeMe Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Houdini is her Maneater and Training Season will be her Promiscuous (Maneater underperformed in the US but Promiscuous and Say It Right SMASHED HARD in the US). Let's just hope she also has a Say It Right and All Good Things Come to an End on this record 5

PopLover1423 Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 I think a more relevant comparison would be Houdini being the Attention and the next single being the Paint The Town Red of the era. I think Dua is more established than Doja and I still have hopes for the songs to rise (if she decides to give us some performances!!) but we have seen Miley and Doja secure a monster hit with dismal album numbers last year (although Agora Hills is still climbing) and we might see something similar with DL3.
