After one day of sales and streams, we can project a first week total of 1.45-1.55m. This includes over 400m projected streams for an SEA of 300-350k. 1989 (TV) will become Swfit's sixth album to debut north of 1m.

The original 1989 opened with 1.29m in 2014. Swift’s last album to open over 1m was 2022’s Midnights, which debuted with 1.59m. Will 1989 (TV) surpass Midnights and give Swift her all-time biggest first week? Does she have anything up her sleeve to make that happen? Watch this space.

If only the re-recordings were ACTUALLY of equal quality (if not better) to the OGs...otherwise just another hollow statistic, which is sad

...

Update: It's impressive don't get it twisted, but it'd been cuter if she'd put in more 'work' (audiophile-level recording quality, better producers, bringing back Max, e.t.c.)
