The album is pretty heavy on ballads, around half of it and the two poppier tracks were already released. I can see the label going with one of the ballads next and following it with "love is embarrassing", the one that seems to be the safest single left.

girl?? late night shows are not a thing anymore. at least for now. the writers strike put all of them on hold, that’s why she won’t book any of them 

all her interviews right now have to be either magazine interviews or radio interviews (and she’s doing both). interviews-wise, there is nothing she could do other than what she’s already been doing.

I don’t think the album is getting anything more than an 8 now that we know half of the songs are ballads and not anything like Vampire or BIR. It’ll probably get a 7.5-7.9, which is still good.

i don’t mind having ballads because the ones we are aware of already have much more interesting themes than the sour’s ones. making the bed being about how overwhelmed she felt with her sudden rising to fame and teenage dream being about the anxieties of leaving her teenage years behind now that she’s coming into adulthood already sounds much more interesting and compelling than the sour ballads where it was basically her saying the same thing with different words (aka joshua leaving her for a blonde girl)

The insider described Vampire as one of the poppier tracks, meaning that it probably doesn’t sound like the other ballads.

She did a short one when Vampire came out and he mentioned talking with her about the album when it came out. If it doesn’t come out this week, she might do it when she’s in London in a few weeks.

I feel like the ballads will be different than SOUR’s. The Guardian mentioned “Making the Bed” as having a “wall of sound”. And compared the album to Beck and Smashing Pumpkins. 
 

I think this is also what the pulse insider meant about Vampire being one of the poppier songs.
