i mean.. the hype is there, with the livies and pop listeners. but with the gp, it isn’t quite there or not on the same level as SOUR pre-release. at least we can be sure physical sales are going to be better this time, fans have already ordered and vinyl are shipped upon release. they’ve been promoting the variants for weeks now.

 

anyway, the advantage of the lack of g4u levels of hype for now is that there’s possibility the album won’t peak during release. one of the yet to be released songs could still smash or find its way to the gp. like traitor & happier (in SEA).

Hype is no where near SOUR levels.  Releasing bad idea right was still not a smart decision.  She/her team are smart but that was dumb.  
 

Im a little worried this album is going to be too loud for the GP.  I’m also worried it won’t be serious enough for her fans because she said it was very playful.

It seems like she has plenty of serious songs/ballads on the album… Teenage Dream, Pretty Isn’t Pretty, Making the Bed, Lacy (probably), The Grudge (possibly)

the Vampire era was a smash, from the brilliant music to the clever promo, but everything after that has been a TRAINWRECK  it was just crickets after it and then suddenly #that mid song dropped out of nowhere and crickets again. She better have a KILLER single to go with the album to leave NO crumbs

I kinda don't care about the chart performance because no matter how well she does she will get called a flop if she doesn't sell 1 million in the first week since everyone has unrealistically high expectations for everything she does  it's like how they consider vampire a flop even tho it's a #1 hit but songs from other pop girls that barely peaked in the top 30 are considered smash hits by those same people

I'm wondering if her switch of managers is what's lead to this absolutely dreadful comparison of promotion between eras. Olivia was everywhere during the sour era between MTV Interviews, regular social media posts and magazine covers. She didn't even need late night shows!

 

Her team better start working, GUTS is already infinitely better than SOUR in terms of quality and it hasn't even released

Yeah I was worried about the change of management but seems like Olivia is adopting a different strategy this era.

So Olivia went and did a bunch of UK radio promo but didn't do a radio 1 live lounge? is she insane? live lounges are like a write of passage for artists. Every artist from Lana to Adele to Tay have done them.
