Gwen started her solo career at 34 and Fergie at 30 That’s completely different to Bey, Rih and Taylor The point was that Fergie, Gwen, and Nelly became mainstream stars around the same period which is why we group them together. We don’t group Beyoncé with them because Destiny’s Child is considered a part of the late 90s teen wave. We don’t group Beyoncé with Rih and Taylor because by the time they debuted they were calling Beyoncé an influence and/or massive star in their eyes. By the time Rih/Taylor became household names GGGB/Fearless, Beyonce was in her late 20s with over 10 years on her belt cause she started as a teen. Though, Gwen and Bey should probably be seen more as peers. It’s really that the DC drama and DC being more ingrained in pop culture that Beyoncé was more known as an individual than Gwen was in No Doubt. But Fergie was added to BEP the year Bey went solo so that doesn’t quite add up and they’re not considered peers.
