Squall Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Don't you guys put Normani (who can't sing) on a pedestal? Also, I didn't know Rihanna made her name on her amazing vocals

It doesn’t get more embarrassing than that Or Rihanna’s tragic vocals on Same Old Love that made the producer fly out and fetch Selena Gomez instead
Cleanromantic Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Rihanna gets away with less than mediocre everything, so yeah .
Josh Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 1 minute ago, Big Bad Wolf said: No. Just look at Rihanna and how people bash her for being “talentless”, but others have literally PRAISED someone like Selena Gomez for having a “good career despite no talent” or whatever + they eat up her whisper vocals like no tomorrow too. But Rihanna gets dragged for everything under the sun even though her discography is full of literal classics. No one has praised Selena Gomez everyone calls her out on her lack of talent.

Meanwhile, Calvin wanted someone better to sing the song after hearing that horrendous and nasly demo. Imagine getting your own song snatched like that Edited April 20, 2023 by airplane
tshwark Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Mainstream media will never call out Taylor for her mediocre vocals, her first grammy performance was a disaster, however with black artists they won’t hesitate.
Zoe_ Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 If the music is pop like Rihanna. But even she has a unique voice that has gotten better over time.
Richie Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 23 minutes ago, Shelter said: No. Just look at the Taylor lip syncing thread, all sticking up for her. You can't even hear her voice over the backtrack anymore. Alicia gets dragged for her vocals all the time. Plus she uses 4 ... yes FOUR backing vocalist on top of the backing track on tour

Chika Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 No. Black women are under far too much scrutiny in the public eye to ever get away with Taylor/Selena/Gaga's complete lack of vocal talent. Rihanna actually has a very distinct vocal tone, and, while not exactly Whitney come again, her vocals are certainly better than 90% of the white women that dominate the charts
StonedSoulPicnic Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 If Mickey Guyton did this, she'd be the laughing stock of country music.
Lipgloss Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 (edited) Rihanna can sing tho . She's just inconsistent. Sometimes her vocals sound tired, other times it's very strong. I don't think I've ever seen a Taylor performance where I would say her vocals were strong. Edited April 20, 2023 by Lipgloss
Devin Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 And those randomly bringing up Rih and Normani Rih has a better tone and sound than Taylor which explains her massive hits and Normani can dance, an alternative skill thats far better than what Taylor does live.
the good guy_duh Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 (edited) Normani. Technique-wise, she's even weaker than Taylor, her tone is her saving grace. Also Janet got away with it, for a bit. Edited April 20, 2023 by the good guy_duh

Brooklyn Baby Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 The losers naming Rihanna as a weaker vocalist than Taylor. Ijbol
