Love him to death but any input you have on the concept of albums is invalid, please stick to those 9 track EPs per half a decade, that get milked for multiple tours each…

The concept of albums isn't just stuffing 20 songs in one album, that no one will remember half of it in 10 years. But she knows he fans will stream and buy whatever she puts out, I mean they literally bought noise one time that was uploaded by mistake.

janet.. most of the time she doesn't even sing, just whispers.. and she barely gets any criticism for it (or the constant lip synching)

:lmao:Janet's good (for a throwback), but I think the lack of criticism is because very few care about her enough to critique in the first place (much like they did - or rather didn't do with her last 3-4 albums).

Yes but only male artists (The Weeknd f.ex, although her vocals are better than Taylor's). Female black performers can have a mediocre voice but they need to dance or have extreme theatrics. A black Taylor Swift wouldn't be successful in this racist industry tbh

Janet got away with being a mediocre singer because she danced like crazy and always put on a show

Rihanna got away with it because she's super cool and her brand has never been 'oh I'm a singer songwriter"

Diana Ross vocals are definitely better than Taylor's, plus she was selling you diva.

Black women are not allowed to be bland even if they are great songwriters like Taylor.

Anyways, for this thread, the obvious one answer is Rihanna but she’s an obvious exception not the rule.

Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Selena Gomez, Madonna, JLo, Ellie Goulding, Dolly Parton, Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefaní, Kylie Minogue, Adam Levine, Ryan Tedder, Bob Dylan, JT….

Vs

Rihanna, Janet, Aaliyah and Diana Ross? Who else? What’s a big name black male vocalist that has average or shitty vocals?

not when Avril can outsing these girlies in circles even today after being sick with lyme lmaoooooooooooo
