The difference in the response between this and Uvalde is staggering… I wonder how much of it had to do with the calls describing a “female” shooter. Weren’t there SWAT/FBI/special forces at Uvalde? These are mere cops saving the day

My impression is that any banner here for a shooting was surprising given the amount of shootings there's been threads on on this forum. So in that sense, the implied "speed" for which the banner was taken down is irrelevant - even having a thread banner at all on this was jarring, regardless on the shooter being trans or not. I don't recall if Uvalde did but I don't think so - the last I can recall was either on Betty White's death or R. Kelly's first prison sentence.

 

Was hesitant to escalate this but since the implication is so gross and is now being repeated here without question I believe it was @Ryan who made the decision and can answer this directly. Or not, but I wouldn't tag to stir the pot unless it was called for in this instance.

What is wrong with you? I just answer a question. It is what I observed so DONT blame me for what other people did or are doing regarding the horrible thing that happened at the school. The implication that we took down the banner for the thread because the shooter identified as trans is absolutely disgusting. Trust and believe I will be discussing with the co-admins the possibility of permanently revoking your account status as a result.

 

The banner was removed because the emergent breaking news had passed, and I wanted to elevate a different discussion thread. I didn’t feel it was appropriate to have the Shawn thread up and the shooter thread. There is no conspiracy. And shame on you for coming into what is supposed to be a safe space for LGBTQ members and espousing your dangerous right-wing propaganda.
