ahhh thank you! i am so excited to have earned a silver token!! i was really trying to break out of bronze. i'm so glad that you and @Hug both enjoyed it so much! thank you both for your commentary!! i had a lot of fun writing it and coming up with something super fun and ridiculous. trying to balance the rhythm/rhyme scheme with these comedic elements + also building the characters a bit... it was tough!

thank you!! you are correct -- i now have two bronze and one silver across my 3 submissions. i guess i'll just have to keep submitting to try for gold!

 

this is really crazy to me, as i was reading some of my old submissions back from 2015-2016 and most are so generic and cringey lol. it's so exciting to see how things have evolved for me!

 

i'm glad that you were surprised and enjoyed the creativity of my song! i figured i'd try and bring something new to the table. i was originally pondering a song about a siren luring people to their doom... and then it evolved into the idea of the ocean as someone's resting place. it kind of just popped into my head to have an older woman touring potential resting places, but to make it kind of camp and comical. i had never tried a showtune before, so i was like hmm let me challenge myself then! i had told @Euterpe the idea and she then said it sounded like a role for jennifer coolidge, and that was the final cherry on top of the chaos haha. she gets a creative director credit for this cracked out musical number xx

Do y'all ever feel like a plastic bag get this feeling after writing a song and you don't record it like "damn, I really wish I could listen to this song"?? My song this week does that for me. Like I can't listen to it unless I sing it or record it. I want it on my playlist!!!! Maybe I'll program a vocaloid to sing it I can already see the music video too, with the flashes of my couple in all the different universes

 

One time I was really lucky, I wrote a song and then Cut To The Feeling came out and sounds pretty similar to it - it's so cool to hear the song, which is kinda like my own song - whenever I listen to Cut To The Feeling it's so magical it's like hearing my own song. the RUSH. I love that song

 

I wiiiiish someone with Linkin Park vocals could sing my song this week with a rock-tinged dance beat. I could probably do it, but I'm unbothered LOL

 

I really did bridge the gap between dance music and rock music with Love Across the Universes. imma have the rock gw0rls in the nightclub and the dance gw0rls in the mosh pits
