Just looked at my last fm chart and realized…Why are most kpop album covers so BORING recently

it’s just some random graphic splashed with the title and that’s it

where is the CREATIVITY, where is the EFFORT, where is the actual PEOPLE and FACES on the cover?

i just can’t at the laziness

In the current era of KPOP can we say trying to appealing to a Korean audience first and foremost, is what might be holding some groups back?

In terms of tastes or who gets pushed, how many Korean members are in groups etc.?

They could have a career on Japan alone  :deadbanana2:

Yes especially for survival shows. Look at what companies did for the line up of Kep1er and R u next! They basically didn’t take in account international preferences and choose to put young Korean members instead. Now Kep1er are flop and Hybe new gg don’t have any hype.

But also Imo, it’s mandatory to have a visual and FOTG who appeals to Koreans

I think it depends on the goal of the group. If their goal is mainly or just Korea then it's not holding them back. This is like asking if a western artist is holding themselves by trying to appeal to their own country instead of Korea. I think groups/companies with a goal of appealing internationally will make decisions aligned with that goal and ones that aim to establish their career in Korea will make decisions according to that. Theres plenty of successful artists in Korea outside of idol groups who the majority of ifans have never heard about, but they're still very much successful and not held back just bc their career is built to appeal to Koreans and found success in their home country

Social media changed Kpop forever. Especially for major companies. Thier goal will always be to maximize fandom first over the Korean GP. There’s a few exceptions but Money runs the Game. I wouldn’t be surprised if more western collabs and Brand deals happen in 2024

Of all the songs on the setlist, why are they doing this to World? :deadbanana2:  @Witnessed ET Just bc I know this is one of your favorite songs from them, do you agree with their sentiment on this song? I saw enough qrts saying this was a valid reaction to World that maybe true enthusiasts of the 2022 snooze bop can understand
