I just went to see their sales on Korean Sales twt and I'm shocked It's still on ~400k-ish

The way nobody had any way of knowing that they would blaze such a powerful trail with making kpop GGs relevant in Japan, spawning one of the biggest idol soloists of all time, breaking the top 5 of the US iTunes chart back when that was the #1 consumption metric in music and effectively opening the door for kpop in the west, playing Madison Square Garden, having the most successful subunit of all time, cultivating a culture where hard work is rewarded and respected by the public instead of drowned out by jealous anti-fans, spearheading a culture of older generations of idols trying to be mentors and supporters of their juniors instead of being in competition with them, highlighting queer voices and queer existence despite only being relevant in countries where that's career suicide, remaining one of the top 10 most relevant girl groups 16 years into the misogynist pop music industry that usually throws women away after their 30th birthday, etc, etc, etc.

 

The talent, the musicality, the feminism, the allyship, the sisterhood. There never has been and never will be another Girls' Generation and that is honestly so tragic.
