The parent company of BPM is Fact Invest. When they launched the company, their goal was to recruit idols to become in the TOP5 of entertainment by the end of 2013. They have a deal with Million Market, one of Sm subsidiaries, also with Swing Ent, Double Sidekick and MLD Ent, they are slowly buying and eating them. They are also creating their own artist communication platform, and buying into one of the big 7 of the streaming services. They are going worse than HYBE and more aggressive.

NCT 127's last album - 1.94m NCT Dream's last album - 2.07m NCT full group last album - 1.83m EXO's last album - 1.33m Declining and disbanded EXO have nothing on NCT. And they old sold 1.33m because of the greenscreen'd in Chinese member... their album before that without Lay sold like 800k. 1

Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 SM debut a New Soloist to be the Modern day/Next Gen BoA. We don’t need new groups anymore.

TasteOfYourLips Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 Not SM ******* around slave contracts in 2023 K-pop industry is rotten to the core. I just hope boys don't end up blacklisted because they are entitled in every way to sue SM. If the rumours about Taeyeon & Taemin are true then LSM really got his last laugh

When people complained about how Momoland never fully capitalized on the success of "Bboom Bboom" and I would say the people in charge were more concerned with saving themselves than coming up with the next nations girl group, and instead of taking the money they made and investing into further promotions, they used the money to extricate themselves from their situation so that the MLD company and the BPM company are the two functioning survivors from the Yedang/Wellmade financial waste dump. Strangely, even though Shinsadong Tiger is the one who came up with the song, he was not as fortunate financially. Wait, not strangely. Just the usual. Anyway, tl;dr Momoland ended SM.
Jack! Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 (edited) Hmm, I struggle to believe the rumours with the other members looking to leave, especially the likes of Taeyeon and Taemin. I feel like those two in particular lucked out with their solo debuts, both have been able to stand their own since doing so 8 and 9 years ago respectively. Taeyeon is somewhat of an SM darling and SHINee have been very open about how especially since the situation with Jonghyun, they've definitely been granted more creative control to do what they want with their releases and are very happy to keep working as a group well into the foreseeable. I could only think a mass-suing/walk out situation would be genuine if they all came together as a collective, maybe worked out they were being underpayed, asked to see the proof of earnings and were told no. But other than the three legitimate ones we've heard about with CBX, I don't think the other names being thrown about will be true. Edited June 1, 2023 by Jack!

Here's a list of all the Korean entertainment management agencies that have continued to function normally after the person for whom the agency is named after no longer has management responsibilities at that agency. I guess YG kinda functioned normally while the brothers YG were on a timeout (allegedly), but then they did debut a Seventeen knockoff, so, maybe not. Generally speaking, it's a people business. And if the people who you were comfortable doing business with are no longer there, not much reason to stay around, either. Reasons can be negotiated though.
