Why should it when We Found Love is most definitely getting that diamond certification when they update it? Meanwhike how is Camila's Familia doing? Did it manage to get a certification ANYWHERE despite dropping months ago? Did it even manage to scrape 100K total units in the U.S. after her lead diamond singles?

What I'd expect from a ballad like this from a huge artist. The only thing is, it's the first song Rihanna has released in 6 years, she's the most hyped artist right now and she's doing the Super Bowl. It's a bit low for "the comeback" of the decade. Hope it is because of how mid (very cute tho) the song

They wanted something to drag her with (they had waited six long years to do it) and this was the closest thing they had. And it turns out even with the song being about grief it hasn't flopped as they wished it had and now they're just throwing senseless posts hoping something sticks

 

The song did good numbers. I might take the whole "comeback" posts seriously if the purpose of the song was to get people to stand up and shake their ass but that's not the case.

Not bad when you see it as an outsider, but once you check the 100M spotify playlisting + #1 position on TTH + cover it’s underwhelming especially when someone like Taylor Swift did double the numbers with her lead…

You know it’s funny the same ppl talking about I expected more for a comeback will be regurgitating those same remarks when her lead single off the album is released and suddenly “Lift Me Up” will go back to being what it is a soundtrack song

I'm not sure what that has to do with it? What Halloween songs go #1? It's not Christmas yet. 

 

You can say the numbers are good but also acknowledge the effort put into this. Most of the songs mentioned didn't have the hype, playlisting or radio on day 1.

Right. Now they can't treat it as a soundtrack because it literally did better than anyone else's with its debut. Since they're saying this is the comeback single they should keep that same energy when the R9 lead drops

What did y'all want? A single with no radio push, no Spotify push, no banner, no effort put whatsoever

Like I guess too bad for the other ladies that didn't have their soundtracks promoted but that's not Rih's fault. Disney promoted the song and if the promo is doing what it was intended to do then good.
