Pretty sure it reached its peak after the remix dropped, and whatever the case maybe that was five years ago and Camila isn't pulling these numbers solo 4 minutes ago, Icarus said: Maybe Lift Me Up will be Rihanna's first ever diamond single as a lead artist (something Camila does have ) Why should it when We Found Love is most definitely getting that diamond certification when they update it? Meanwhike how is Camila's Familia doing? Did it manage to get a certification ANYWHERE despite dropping months ago? Did it even manage to scrape 100K total units in the U.S. after her lead diamond singles?
Miracle Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 What I'd expect from a ballad like this from a huge artist. The only thing is, it's the first song Rihanna has released in 6 years, she's the most hyped artist right now and she's doing the Super Bowl. It's a bit low for "the comeback" of the decade. Hope it is because of how mid (very cute tho) the song

If she had released a dance song she would have done +10M streams for sure
RihFenty20 Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 And only 30% comes from the USA. Talk about GLOBAL.
Ivan_brit Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Rihanna slaying a 3rd consecutive is what I see…. Stay mad haters

Were they expecting it to be a party bop even though it's about grief?

Were they expecting it to be a party bop even though it's about grief? They wanted something to drag her with (they had waited six long years to do it) and this was the closest thing they had. And it turns out even with the song being about grief it hasn't flopped as they wished it had and now they're just throwing senseless posts hoping something sticks The song did good numbers. I might take the whole "comeback" posts seriously if the purpose of the song was to get people to stand up and shake their ass but that's not the case.
SharonStone Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Not bad when you see it as an outsider, but once you check the 100M spotify playlisting + #1 position on TTH + cover it’s underwhelming especially when someone like Taylor Swift did double the numbers with her lead…

Bentley Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 and tbh I like Rih but this song just isn’t it, like how dare she

You know it’s funny the same ppl talking about I expected more for a comeback will be regurgitating those same remarks when her lead single off the album is released and suddenly “Lift Me Up” will go back to being what it is a soundtrack song
Dreajae Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 3 hours ago, Paola Bracho said: Well of course! That's exactly why she released a total bop right before the Haloween that appeals to everyone! They wanted that party smash! Try at least to make some sense. I'm not sure what that has to do with it? What Halloween songs go #1? It's not Christmas yet. You can say the numbers are good but also acknowledge the effort put into this. Most of the songs mentioned didn't have the hype, playlisting or radio on day 1.

Now they can't treat it as a soundtrack because it literally did better than anyone else's with its debut. Since they're saying this is the comeback single they should keep that same energy when the R9 lead drops 9 minutes ago, Dreajae said: I'm not sure what that has to do with it? A single with no radio push, no Spotify push, no banner, no effort put whatsoever Like I guess too bad for the other ladies that didn't have their soundtracks promoted but that's not Rih's fault. Disney promoted the song and if the promo is doing what it was intended to do then good.
Starkboy Posted October 29, 2022 Author Posted October 29, 2022 Suddenly this is the first big release that gets playlists and radio promo you guys are so weird

Adrian Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 I love how polarizing this song is. The POWER of Rihanna! We love to see it!
Gorjesspazze9 Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Riri going #2 with one day of tracking and even rivaling Taylor? and y’all really thought this would flop. It’s only gonna be bigger once Wakanda forever releases in 2 weeks. I call it a win for her in the long run.

What does a #2 iTunes placement matter when she's projected to debut higher than the #1 song on iTunes currently I can't even remember the last time I saw an attempt to drag someone for not topping iTunes on this site or anywhere for that matter

popmusic Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Today main version should get 4.5m - 4.7m unfiltered streams and around 4.3m - 4.5m filtered but we'll see after counters update.
