Embarrassing. She was born to Puerto Ricans parents. She IS Latina. I’m tired of this “Hall Monitor” mentality that some Latinos do to police other Latino’s heritage. kandicha Posted August 16, 2022 Share Posted August 16, 2022 at least JLo tried it's giving me flashbacks to the time my friend and I went to an Asian-American poetry event at our uni and this girl with heritage from the same country as us, but never lived there, couldn't speak the language, read a poem about how she had nightmares because of our country's traumatic past (mind you a country she never lived in) with really obviously google translated and grammatically incorrect lines and a horrible stilted accent. even JLo speaks Spanish better than this activist did our language. the whole crowd was going wild while my friend and I were looking at each other like this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

She is Nuyo rican.
