What era did Beyonce become bigger than Britney?

The lack of intelligence on this thread. :deadbanana2:

They're talking about career overall, not during each era. Otherwise Ariana would be bigger than Madonna and Mariah, given that Ari outsells these two ladies since her debut in 2013.

OT: During self-titled era.

If we're going off the OP it's clearly not ''overall career'' :rip:

Anyway...

When did Bey overtake Britney career overall? Self Titled

When did Bey become bigger than Britney? Her debut

Bey was bigger the moment she dropped CiL, in fact she moved popular music away from teen pop into a more Urban category.

This was Britney a year later

Self-titled.

Bey paved her own way and surpassed her peers after that record was released

Id say around 2008/2009.

In 2003 Beyonce was big but she was just a popular artist going head to head with Britney, Christina, etc. By 2011 she had surpassed her.

Britney could never keep the momentum her first 2 albums had and kept declining each era, except for toxic streams saving the in the zone era and the circus era having a minibump shes been declining ever since

When she debuted aka Dangerously In Love

DIL: 10M WW
ITZ: 8M WW

Even Survivor was pretty on par with "Britney" if we count Survivor as a Bey era

This thread is still going?

Seriously stop comparing Bey with Britney.

They debuted in different eras, they are not even the same genre.

They have a different history, bey has dc, Britney decline from the conservatorship.

Britney’s peers are Xtina, Pink, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson etc. The late 90s/early 00s

Beyonce’s peers are Rihanna, Fergie(solo), Gaga and others from the mid/late 00s

The only thing they have in common is that they dominated the 00s in different eras and times.

Beyonce was billboard's artist of the year back to back during Britneys peak of 2000 and 2001

You mean DC?

Britney and Beyonce solo are not competition.

Did you not read anything I posted?

I think 2003. Britney's peak is really overhyped. Her Billboard 200 stats are tragic for someone of her caliber.

:rip: @ Gaga being Beyoncé’s peer but not Britney

Beyonce debuted solo in the early 2000s and closer to Britney than Gaga.

Bigger at the time or bigger overall?

Beyonce's eras were always bigger than contemporary Britney eras from the start.

Overall she definitively passed her around the Super Bowl.

This.

Funny how now they're not comparable but they were when you were an insufferable Beyoncé hater back in the day ,ALWAYS comparing them and trolling the hive with the other delulus:ahh:

Now that the tides have turned and Bee career reached new heights and became everything y all thought Britney would be, suddenly "tHeY rE nOt pEeRs"...... y all ain't slick :lmao:

I’d say they were pretty much equal until ST.

- I would’ve said IASF (due to bigger single and album sales) but Britney’s tour grossed a lot more with less dates.

- ST was the first time Beyoncé truly beat out Britney in all categories.

I'd say around Single Ladies, and then self titled sealed the deal

Self titled and especially Lemonade was when Bey really separates herself from the rest of the pack.

Honestly the last couple of years Britney has been more relevant than Beyonce. Her old hits are becoming more played, so I don’t know what tides you’re talking about. They are around the same rn.

I don’t want to fall into that stupid game of comparing them.

Both are legends on their fields. If you wanna keep going on the pointless fight go ahead.

Like both fanbases are pushing 30 or already in their 30s. Time to grow the **** up.

Bey was always successful but ST took her to another level, so around 2013... which was the same year that Britney started to flop

was Dangerously in Love actually bigger than ITZ? I know basically all singles from both DIL and Bday outpeaked those of ITZ but ITZ still feels bigger than any Bey era pre-sasha fierce imo. Especially worldwide.

as for when did Beyoncé surprass her. 2011 was the last time when a simultaneous era by both of them performed very similarly in overall terms (4 sold more albums but FF had higher peaking singles) then from 2013 onwards it was clear Beyoncé surprassed all of her contemporaries.
