Seema and the gun. :deadbanana2:

The shock on Carrie's face. I had to rewatch that scene like ten times.  "YOU HAVE A GUN...?" :rip:

Were they, though? I think it set the right tone (excluding the pilot) and did a fantastic exposition to the four women's characters, their relationship to one another, dating and the city.

2-4 > 1 > 6 > 5 > AJLT/movies, imo.

This will never not be funny :rip:

Completely tragic episode. Why are they trying to pass the Upper West Side/East Side as the most dangerous place in earth? :rip:

I know it’s a trite comparison but this show really just reinforces callbacks to “The Golden Palace”. Boring storylines, random new characters that we are forced to care about without being given a reason, character assassinations, and Golden Girls in the lobby. So far S2 is such a snooze.

This is SUCH an insult, golden palace was still a decent show, it was the additional chars that helped bring it down, but the sotryline within the hotel theme made it digestible, there were still solid jokes and the character dynamic between the 3 girls was largely reminiscent of the original. There were no assassinations, how dare you? Palace is an obvious tier or two lower that GG but what a ridiculous thing to say :psyduck:

You can share your opinion without having to be so condescending. As a new member, there is so much BS that are completely unnecessary. you are just disrupting the convo without adding anything as your message doesn't open any way to debate or share different point of views.

I'm not being condescending i'm rebuting a point, if you take it that way that's on you. I'm allowed to disagree wholeheartedly with any post and passionately state my reasons why. The user is free to counter argue, in no way have I disrupted when i'm still on topic :toofunny3: tf?

The show seemingly hasn't been able to turn around reviews w/S2, major publications are still leaning on negative...

Fifty-Plus and Fabulous? Carrie and Co Have Been Reduced to Shadows of Their Former Selves

Take the major storyline in Episode 2, which sees Carrie torpedo her own podcast because she can’t say the word “******” on air—a prospect so awful that she feels “humiliated, mortified, I want to die” over it. What? The original Manhattan sex columnist, who made her name writing about anal sex and the taste of sperm, has suddenly become that prudish? I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the more comfortable I seem to be with talking openly about all sorts of below-the-belt health issues, and if there was a job on the line, I’d say “******” (though shouldn’t it have been vulva?) into a microphone as many times as required. So would the old Carrie—albeit prefaced with, “I couldn’t help but wonder…”

And as for her agonizing about having accidentally agreed to attend a rooftop party with Franklyn, the podcast producer she’s having weekly assignations with (that prudishness may be rubbing off on me)? I was banking on that people-pleasing instinct having withered away by midlife.

Then there’s Miranda, the ballsy lawyer who could identify a “he’s just not that into you” scenario a mile off, but who is now so fearful of asking her partner, Che, what’s bothering them that she convinces herself their relationship is nothing more than sex. Who can’t make her mind up about whether to get a robot tattoo, and is pathetically grateful to the owner of the parlor for having the most cursory of salesman-like conversations with her.

And what about Charlotte, who is too nervous to tell her own husband, Harry—a man not known for taking offense over anything much—that he’s not her date to the Met Ball. We’re supposed to believe that these two have been married for 17 years, yet they can’t seem to untangle the simplest of crossed wires?

The characters in the original series regularly lacked self-awareness, but they were less inhibited and clumsy than this. And even their messiest moments were handled with humor. I know that people can evolve as they get older, but Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte seem to have devolved.

The arc with Harry's ejaculation felt very reminiscent of the OG series tbh :chick3: Actually, the whole episode felt kind of like old-school SATC with Miranda's nighttime dilemma, Carrie getting that text at the party, Charlotte considering working again, etc. Probably the best ep of S2 so far. (Note that most of the new characters were absent most of the time!!! And the anniversary dinner arc was the most boring part of the ep.)

Spoiler

Don't know if that was genuinely a good episode or I just had really low expectations :rip:

Carrie's storyline was fun, I kinda wish we saw more of George but the writers are probably planning her to reunite with Aidan so I don't expect any of her other romantic interests to last

Harry and Charlotte's interactions this episode were cute

That focus group scene was EVERYTHING :clap3:
