I cackled a bit watching the new SMCU episode because it was so obvious that they put more effort into Karina/Winter's scenes :rip:

This is inflated since it's basically singles not albums

no, an album with two songs is still an album, it costs the same.

Honestly Aespa have just been confirmed for like 1.5M preorders? IVE are definitely bigger digitally/streaming wise but with those pre-order numbers idk how you can say that Aespa isn’t clearing the girls still :deadbanana4:

Girl, Aespa are still clearing the other girls even digitally without an official comeback out yet. The gays in this thread are just living in an alternate reality it seems. :rip:

:ahh:omg. Had SM released Girls in March/April aespa would be stomping even harder.

people are forgetting IVE only released 2 singles and both were hits while aespa only has Next Level as a huge Hit and Savage as a hit.

IVE has 0 flops in their career and has 0 mini album released. IVE's mini allbum will be huge in sales and if they get an international deal their sales will be even bigger

Anywho, LTS is like the worst possible option for an US debut:psyduck: it is so whatever, hell it is an offense to Aespa's discography. It should have been an actual summery song or Illusion but this is just...

ugh when it comes to this kind of stuff no one does it better than TWICE :jonny: maybe they should've kept doing cute until they're like 40, it's not like they look old like SNSD anyway

Nayeon :jonny: She does not look awkward/nervous and she looks like she enjoyed the performance.

Life's Too Short (eng ver) outsold the Korean version I fear

Their English is really good, particularly NingNing her pronunciation. Proves there is no excuse for BTS's pronunciation terrorism :cm:

Loona did well with Star as well. Women better at languages I guess :cm:

Dreams Come True had a music video and promotions, what is missing to be an "official comeback"?

Is it because it was a "remake"? Next Level was one too.

You are saying this as if it was Aespa's fault they debuted earlier and started getting hits earlier :dies: NL managed to clear Dalla Dalla despite the later having a two year upper hand and considering digital points in 2019 were far bigger than in 2021. The reality is Aespa's alleged flop song is their debut track which managed an almost top 100 year end peak even though it only peaked at 49 and it is worth noting Aespa hasn't had a full comeback since IVE debuted:dies: it's been like 8 months since Savage I am sorry but those are the facts.

Dreams Come True was a station song and it had absolutely 0 promo beside two performances that happened after the song blew up because of the demand. :rip:

And it still smashed. So now, it’s not an official comeback.

Ive only 6 months old, aespa edges in sales as of now and have a national hit but Ive not too far behind. So far both are close competitors in korea.

The way IM NAYEON is better than any TWICE release since 2020

No Problem is very EMOTION era Carly probably my favorite from the mini. She slayed

LTS is cute & actually better than I expected. The fact that an entirely English single even entered Melon in the first place is a sign that their hype hasn't truly gone away yet. Stop playing with them

Lifes too short is not as bad as id thought it would be, although some of the lines could be a bit more clear.

Definitely should have been released after Girls though.

Ningning really delivered on those end vocals

I love her energy :jonny6: this is why she deserves to be the first one to get a solo serving quality, quantity and talent

it’s so funny how twice and aespa are average in English (exc. Giselle) but their prononciation is quite good.

the way IVE debuted 6 months ago and is already compared to aespa :jonny6:

no but MYs are getting too cocky when literally the only big hit aespa has is Next Level. Savage was very frontloaded and Dreams Come True, Life's Too Short, Illusion, Forever and Black Mamba aren't hits.

aespa has Next Level and the physicals on their side. We'll see how Girls does but if you think they are far ahead from IVE when they literally have only 2 singles that are still being relevant and huge hits in Korea + the physical sales.

aespa has a bigger peak than IVE at the moment but IVE has way more stability :coffee2:

It's all about how it's marketed, Dreams Come True wasn't sold as a comeback, had no physical release, and had the [Station] label on it which usually is chart poison. Plus it is quite literally a cover of a classic Korean hit song, rather than a remake of an unknown soundtrack song. It's not really the same as NL.

I expected DCT to flop into oblivion (like Life's Too Short is currently doing). How many Station songs have been hits, the only one that comes to mind is Yawn's Rain :skull:

DCT was an station song that debuted like in the 40s and managed to steadily rise to a top 10 peak, it was released when Savage and NL were both stomping, it was basically and SM project that turned out to be a hit and it got a few stages because it was doing really good.
