What’s with the random Jessica vs. SNSD again? Did she say something to upset the fandom :rip:

She released a sequel to her New York Times bestselling book and some sones weren't happy about it.

I've always said the book is fiction "with some elements of truth added in". So no.

But congrats on your purchase, a great decision. I also have nothing against SNSD (2007-2014) and the slayage they served together as 9.

There are probably vultures jumping in for the drama, but some sones don't help themselves by trying to rewrite history either. No one with a brain would disagree that OT9 was their peak and best years.

Well, there's no history being rewritten because nothing is confirmed, this book is fiction and it's from one person's POV. A book someday written by one of SNSD's former managers would be more reliable than a book written from any of the members' POV.

And yes OT9, especially 2011, was the best year to stan any KPOP group ever.

It's not 100% fiction, she's obviously using that to stop SM suing her. She has said she has left "easter eggs" in the story for fans to work out what she's referring to. Go figure.

And I would never trust anything written by current or former employees of SM unless they had an axe to grind with the company.

Fact: Tiffany also left SM and is still allowed on tv in Korea unlike your pathological liar fav who burns bridges and is disliked by the entire industry ?

Fact: Tiffany is booked and in demand for Broadway, which requires live singing, something Jessica is incapable of(lipped even more than the dance line in SNSD).

Fact: Tiffany has successfully toured Asia and North America. (Something lazy Jessica couldn’t possibly do as it would require more effort than a vlog or half assed “showcase”)

Fiction: Jessica’s books and every word that comes out of your mouth about SNSD. Especially Tiffany and Taeyeon. It’s not their fault that they’re more memorable and had more sticking power than miss fraud Korea 2022.

Sacrificing a Blackpink‘s comeback for 2 flops groups. Not really a smart company.

People still talking about SNSD, their power :WAP: The feud had more hype than 2NE1 coachella lol

Anyway I love how most of my neutral and OT9 moots are totally denouncing Jessica and went full on OT8 now. A lot of Indonesian sones also switched which was glorious. They saw the light, they saw how vile and vindicative she truly is when the 8 has said nothing for 8 years :heart2:

I used to like Sica('s music) but I do think it's sad that 8 years after her departure she has no music career to speak of and has to sustain herself by milking a near-decade old scandal. She really shouldn't have placed her bets on that boyfriend of hers.

"Easter eggs" like drugging someone,  song theft, plagiarism, exposing a relationship and forcing a big 3 company to force out a member?

These are bold and dangerous claims that shouldn't be spread over a Young Adult book. :rip:  A former manager writing an actual book would definitely be better.

There is no thing such as OT8 lmao

Their career as a group after Jessica left is almost as if it never happened now.

NOBODY remembers girls generation for freaking Lion heart, party and you think, please :rip:

She was there as one of the representative members for their glory days and most people remember them as such, whether you like it or not.

I always see this argument but it's almost like saying 2NE1 flopped after Minzy left, because they needed her. SNSD carried on for considerably longer than that. They just happened to leave at the same time their groups reached a certain age and would inevitably slow down anyway.

Sure that's right, because things like drug abuse, theft, in-fighting, bullying and jealousy never happens in any other K-Pop group right? :ace:

Some of it is obviously fictionalised, but some of it clearly isn't and is so obviously based on real events with just names changed. She was more subtle about it in Shine, but more direct in Bright and good for her, because thanks to SM, she'll never be able to say the full truth of what happened.

This is her way of giving the fans some insight into what happened. I think that's really brave and shows a lot of strength to go against the patriarchy on this.

Drug abuse...no a character drugs another character. That is not the same as someone going into the bathroom to do some coke. One is a crime on another person.

Jessica teasing her fans with "You'll have to figure out whats true ;)" with stuff like this in the books is damaging and not some girlboss move.

Snsd was already in their 7th year when Jessica left. Mr Mr was already an underperformance compared to their other singles. Which girlgroup scored big hits in their 8th+ year (except Red Velvet)?

And Party, Lion Heart, Lil Touch are hits no matter what you said

yoona's fans dragging jawsuka and her ugly ass boyfriend tylew on twitter rightfully so :hippo:

Why are a lot of people saying Le Sserafim already 'failed' ?

Physical sales are good and the song is pretty stable on Melon.

I'm confused.

This is all true however it does not invalidate what I said in any form.

Jessica was there for most of their active days as a group and in the times they saw the most success and left the biggest impact. It is how it is. And not 'just there' in a sunny-type of way but as one of the most popular and recognizable faces of the group.

When the public thinks of snsd they think of their early days and stuff like gee, genie, the boys etc. And 9 members by default.

The fact that they would've done continue to underperform in their last few years had she stayed in the group or not is irrelevant.

OT8 is only an internet lunatics thing.

Lalalay was a total departure from her sound and did not deserve the hate, pporappippam wasn’t synthpop retro, Tail was a throwback to the sultry 24 Hours vibe without feeling redundant

You Can’t Sit With Us felt safe for her even with that camp “rap,” but 1/6 as a mini still felt fresh

idk I just don’t get that criticism because she feels pretty varied to me

Idk what people want from her.

The book basically supports what everyone already suspected/knew...that:

1. SM didn't have a problem with her fashion business in the beginning

2. However some members did/were jealous and went to SM and said "kick her or we won't perform"

3. SM was forced to side with those members and told Jessica she had to leave

4. SM blacklisted Jessica in revenge for her Weibo post on the night she was kicked

5. The members cut her out and never contacted her again

There's other things too but these parts are causing the most drama even though C-Netz already knew all this since 2014, which is why Jessica remains popular/big fanbase in China.
