Thats not being a hater, you just aren’t feeling the song. You can stan and not like everything she drops.

That's true. I wouldn't be mad if the song did well, but I don't see that happening. So i truly hope she wasn't also using it to kickstart her era

Me too cause why wouldn’t you release the BOP first and let the people get hyped for album. Unless she’s thinking that she’ll more likely get the Oscar if the song is successful and people may not focus on it as much if Born Again was released first. :dancehall3:

I think we have to remember that most reviews preferred lift me up :deadbanana4: maybe it's because of the context in the movie

isn’t Melissa a photographer or something like that? For R9 just have the good sis on some SavagexFenty lingerie and have Melissa film some lil poses here and there a la Kiss It Better video and call it a day. One for each single and the Navy is happy. :bird:

she literally did that for Unapologetic and it's her worst album photoshoot EVER :deadbanana4:

Honestly this does not give me much confidence for Born Again :deadbanana4: but these are movie reviewers not music? So I’ll hold my breath till Friday

LMU Freefalling and looking like it’s going to fizzle off the charts, honestly makes me a little nervous for r9, let’s hope it doesn’t turn into another situation after the Anti pushbacks when AO bombed and BBHMM / 45S underperformed.

Why not?

Both BBHMM and 45S were huge bops and ended up being classics and big hits.

And ANTI turned out more than OK.... So I don't care as long as the music is good and I think her fans think the same.

This can stay as big a flop as it wants.

I said it before it was released that until the film drops we don't know how this will turn out.

But even if it is a 4 weeks charting song... At least she pulled out the bandage of her releasing new music

Do we even know if R9 or any new music besides BP songs exists and is gonna get released?

Imagine if the 2 BP songs and the Superbowl is everything she has in store. Wouldn't suprise me since she always finds new and worse ways to traumatize us navies :hoetenks:

That classic!

Album a month after the Super Bowl seems too long. I want it the week of so February 17th is best when the hype from her performance has peaked.

single on January 27th (7 years exactly after Work) would be ideal.

lift me up will no longer be a priority  by December by the Christmas freeze and the movie would be released for a month.  That would be enough time for her to drum up new hype for her own single.  I wish Black Panther came out in May 2023 instead so it wouldn’t have to come before her album but at least this alleviates some pressure off her comeback.

I don't want to be a hater but my hope is that this song disappears alongside Born Again by mid November.

More like mid-December (given how fast the movie industry moves, and I’m sure there’s a bunch of big releases lined up for Xmas).

Is this still due to the radio deal? Or how long did that last? I forgot how these things work lol

I don’t think you’re understanding what I was saying. I was referring to Rihanna’s confidence in her own music, Anti went back to the drawing board multiple times, especially after AO bombed. I know 45S and BBHMM were hits, but not to the standard Rihanna was normally held at.

We know Rih is a very selective in recent years what she releases and records, I’m just concerned this and Born Again being an underperformance will make her have doubts in R9, ultimately delaying the album like Anti was. I have no concerns with the album being “bad”

Nothing new. #Navy has never been that fandom tbh .

And the huge drop was expected due to Halloweekend so I'm glad the #Navy is not overreacting :clap3:. I still don't see this being a smash tbh but I think it'll do cute numbers once the film comes out. I feel like rihleasing a new song this week is lowkey not a good idea tho :rip:but whatever.. if RIH doesn't care what can we do? Sis didn't even do an interview for this :ahh:

The main video for LMU and lyric videos for that matter cost 2 cents each. Hardly breaking the bank.

Don't even speak this into existence! I will be pissed if she releases another KIB-esque low budget, low effort, low replay value MV for R9. And I'll RIOT if she gives any of the singles the LOTB treatment!

Miss Thing has the cash and she's done 50 thousand Fenty and Savage campaigns so we know she can make the time.

No excuses for R9, we need top notch output! It's what we deserve!

I assume there will be an interview or two - not like she's going to be part of the movie roadshow, but I don't believe Disney agreed to absolutely no promo on her end.

Its common most SBHTS performers announce a new album or tour at the end. She will def do something to capitalize on the hype.

The "hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me" part at the end ruins the song. She should've realized she doesn't have the range to pull that off. Are there any FL Studio connoisseurs here to remove that part?

rihannadaily has been dead for years and i don't know who's the other one you mentioned

I don't follow chart rules but does Spotify track unique listens? Meaning, do they determine how many different subscribers listened to a song vs. how many times a song was consumed in total?

Can you explain this gif? Did ellie recreate the scene in some parody? When I search youtube it’s another woman lookalike that’s getting pushed

On topic tho i will always post my sincerest opinion only, as that cornball in the whiplash movie said there are no two word in the english language that are more harmful than “good job”. That’s why i’ll rather point at mistakes and give critique rather than just give pointless praise. The song is good, but that part bothers me and i mean it.
