Kiel D-01 Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Β Have y'all seen one of the comments under this video? Not sure if they're reliable but a lot of the points they made kind of make sense? Interesting nonetheless. Β Spoiler That first clip was from an early version of the script. She kills Sophie, Arthur's neighbor from the first movie, after learning she's going to testify against him in court. The smile/elevator door closing is an exact parallel to Arthur killing Randall in his apartment Β They cut out a lot of interesting ideas in the early scripts because Todd Phillips would regularly tell them to just "wing it" on set. Most of the beginning with him and Lee in Arkham was the same actually but it's everything after that/the courtroom drama that changed a lot. Some other bits I remember reading: -It's much more clear that Lee organized the courthouse bombing as an escape attempt if Arthur gets convicted, and she is hoping to kill Harvey Dent with it for trying to give him the death penalty. Arthur gets knocked out when the bomb goes off & has a dream sequence/musical number where him and Lee win the case and escape together (the scene of them dancing down the stairs in all the trailers). He wakes up & sees all the chaos which scares him, and he runs into his two supporters who help him escape -I don't think this was ever shot or tested for screen, but in the script was a big tease of young Bruce & Alfred visiting Arthur while he's awaiting trial and swearing revenge against him for inciting the riots that killed Martha & Thomas Wayne, I assumed they wanted to keep a distance from the whole Batman angle -one veeeery early ending concept had Lee seeing on the news that Arthur gets stabbed in prison (and doesn't seem surprised by it, implying she maybe organized that other inmate to do it), takes over the mantle of Joker as a revolutionary & standing in front of an adoring mob of "jokers" like he does at the end of the first film. Jack! Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Just saw the film. Β I went in with low expectations and maybe that helped me not completely hate it? In the long run it was probably unnecessary to make even in the first place. But despite the 50 mins of screen time allegations, I definitely felt Gaga's presence in the movie. The problem is that if she was removed from the movie completely, it wouldn't have necessarily altered the storyline and that I had a problem with. I wish Todd had had her kill the Joker. Clearly the plan was to kill him regardless, it would have given her character more edge. The courtroom scenes dragged on for a bit, but the scene where he sings The Joker was one of my favourites. So yeah, it was fine, could have been shorter and Gaga deserved more character development. 2.5/5 2

Β Anything would've been better than the nonstop courtroom scenes that did nothing to progress the story, other than retelling the first movie. Luckily, my theater had good drinks, so I just got progressively more drunk every time the annoying prosecutor would pop onto the screen. Β 2

She's contractually obligated to promote the film, she can't do campaign talk - they want it to be lowkey. Michael talk was good, lg7 isn't ready, the next best was companion album⦠AND it was a polite way to acknowledge scenes being cut
