Lady Gaga

I love actressga and appreciate her commitment to her roles but I hope moving forward she considers bulking up her acting resume with some smaller roles in ensemble films. Not every acting project has to require 6 months of research and method acting. I know Gaga will have a long, illustrious acting career but you don't always have to be the central (or near central) role.

I actually would live for to her do a small indie movie with a female director in the near future. Ideally as just a regular woman dealing with some conflict in life.

Next GarGar movie better be about HER, leading, script written for HER.
We don't need any men using her star power.

Todd? well, looks like he shouldn't expect much

Now if Gaga were getting panned, there would be no laughter in this thread :eli: that's when it gets serious

Gár always understands the assignment, the same cannot be said for The Hangover Part III director it seems

Agree! Now that she's kinda "cemented" her space in the acting world, it's ok to take smaller gigs too

People take us too seriously, I always see things from here that are obvious jokes becoming the latest Twitter rumor

:suburban:

I'm pretty sure 90% of us have been laughing  all day in this thread. We know miss Gags did fine and the movie will succeed, it's just mocking at the cost of Phillips lol

The metacritic score and the downgrade to supporting are making me sad. It feels like the Artpop era of her movie career tbh.  Will the Oscars nominate her is the movie is panned by the critics? Has that happened recently? The organic success of DWAS really got me in such a happy mood and the red carpet look today was spectacular but everything since has been such a mood dampner.

Gar officially moved to supporting on GD predictions

does anyone know where that prediction of JFAD opening with 120M-150M came from?

Y'all need to go touch grass forreal. It's not and will never be that serious. THE FIRST MOVIE HAS A 59 ON METACRITIC LMFAO.

sis, were you familiar with the first Joker film? It never left the 50s on Metacritic reviews and still got 11 nominations. I would recommend you don't get ahead of yourself in terms of Oscar nominations, but also set some realistic expectations. Plus, nearly all reviews have been praising Gaga, aside from 2, I think? There's no need to be down about this.

Trying to understand why y'all were expecting a FRESH on Rotten Tomatoes when the first film was extremely divisive. The overdramatics in here is insane

Eh, tbh expected given the reviews of the first movie. We should just be glad Gaga was praised and her legacy isn't being impacted in any way negatively.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, in spite of the mixed reviews the movie/she has been spoke about in Oscar circles for a while now and the fact she seems to be the stand out in the movie is a good thing. Joker had mixed reviews and Joaquin still grabbed a nomination and win.

If anything Gucci was the ARTPOP of her acting career. These *expected* mixed reviews (important to emphasize MIXED vs. negative) are nothing compared to the LASHINGS she got from her infamous Oscar snub. Gucci even had the same faux narrative about a budget loss that ARTPOP had. :dies:

It's too early to tell how everything is going to shake out.
