Steve Coogan's role apparently

Spoiler

Makes sense, I thought he was gonna be a therapist. The "that's what we should be talking about" line seems like it'll be about the press/society instead of his personal progress

Anyway now I'm sure she won't post anything since the whole celebrity backlash, I've seen so many posts asking people to block her. She's on the most of these blocking lists.

She's DEF an Aliens fan. :bibliahh:

I'm not surprised she's fond of an Academy Award-winning commercial smash like herself, oh Godga. :clap3:

Currently, I expect JFAD soundtrack to do as well as C2C did. Could definitely be even bigger considering how the successful the film can be and people would want to relisten to Joaquin and Gaga sing together or can be something most ignore because of the genre.

I expect that same, 1-2 million SPS just like C2C accomplished. JFAD's soundtrack isn't going to pull numbers like ASIB but with the film having great potential to be huge, it's hard to think people will ignore the soundtrack outright. Liddos alone might be able to help it have a decent debut if there are vinyls, CDs, merch, etc. (Not sure about #1 on the BB200, but easily top 10.)

I should have specified that I'm talking about recent performance of both albums, hence why I said chronically theater obsessed theater people.  Unless I'm wrong and more people are streaming TGS than ASIB soundtrack.

Nobody has claimed that TGS soundtrack is performing better than ASIB so I'm not sure what's even the point of making said comparison, TGS has been mentioned as example of soundtrack from a musical with no trendy songs performing well on both the Billboard back in the day and with streaming numbers, with no even big music stars on it.

I can't imagine a normal person streaming TGS soundtrack in 2024. :coffee2:

6 million monthly listeners, I guess they're all chronically obsessed theater people.

"Gaga didn't promote LFS and HOG side by side, she just released prerecorded concert specials while promoting HOG and talked about Tony and LFS during the HOG press tour"

that would be promoting side by side. Sorry my definition of promoting at the same time doesn't mean Gaga stopping mid conversation to scat and break into jazz music

You could have continued to quote me and making the dull joke directly, I don't bite.

The Greatest Showman is a pop score though. The songs all have pop melodies, shiny pop production, and for the most part, poppy vocal delivies. It is not at all a traditional MT score. And that's why it has the sales it does, it had music that could feasibly be played on the radio and get placed on playlists.

Not to come off as combative, but as someone with a theatre degree, musical theatre includes a wide array of musical idioms and genres. TGS is much more comparable to a contemporary musical like Dear Evan Hansen (which shares composers with TGS) than classics from the 60s that pull from jazz, cabaret, and classical music. TGS and Joker, musically, will probably not be comparable.

TGS soundtrack is still listed as show tunes music, whatever it has more pop production or pop vocal delivery, it's not trendy pop music produced by Max Martin or what was trendy musically back when it was released during the domination of Urban-R&B music, which is the point of my argument, it is just an example of a musical soundtrack performing good consequent to the movie success, it's not that deep to require a phd thesis of the specific genres of music.

I'm not sure why the idea of thinking that the soundtrack for JFAD can possibly (key word) performing good is triggering some of you this much, nobody has said it's 100% happening, but it's a possibility given the exposition of the movie (with a possible scene from the movie going viral or being recreated and so on).

I'm more worried about people blocking Gaga over her Haus Labs posts then I am of #BlockOut2024. :gaycat6:

No one outside fringe circles on social media cares or even knows about these stupid block lists. The fact that blocking celebrities is considered "activism" speaks to just how performative these online tantrums are. :rip:

If NurtecGate and Art&CapitalismGate couldn't bring her down, tweets certainly won't.

Blocking celebrities over out-of-context quotes years later won't bring peace? :monkey:

Rosemarie from customer service is not going to care about people blocking gaga on social media. She's still going to listen to Lovegame, bad Romance and Shallow.

Hoping The Fame Monster and/or Born This Way make it onto this list.

She should be given a placement given that Stupid Love ended up being an iPhone ad.

Idc i'll say it I miss Terry Richardson!

When he was following her around on the Born This Way Ball tour and we'd get sickening new behind the scenes photos of her almost everyday on Terry's Diary >

Being a Gaga stan from 2008-2013 was so special. I fear she will never serve these levels of gaggery ever again

she won't, but that's also because she's older now and is a different person. (not in a bad way, we all change.)
