chosensparkles Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 I mean Blackpink and Gaga was a huge no for me at first. Sour Candy ended up being mild outside of Gaga’s parts so I never count out a collab. Her worst collab still remains Jewels N Piss tho

Spotify User Growth: Q3 2018 -> Q3 2023 191M Users -> 551M Users (+188%) Gaga's Streams: 2018 -> 2023 Poker Face: 196M -> 1.006B (+413%) Bad Romance: 199M -> 1B (+403%) Million Reasons: 189M -> 740M (+292%) Telephone: 149M -> 580M (+289%) The Cure: 195M -> 359M (+84%) The trend clearly shows Gaga's streams generally growing significantly more than Spotify as a whole did, so I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss how much better she's doing on streaming now. She used to be far outside of the Top 10 most streamed females on the platform while now she's relatively comfortably in that top bracket. She absolutely has improved a TON since the start of the streaming era. That being said, miss mama can't get too comfortable and should definitely release something soon to keep it up (and feed her starving children ). She releases so sparingly that it's not really possible for her to keep up. I expect her numbers to slowly decrease and overall engagement fade as the gaps between major releases grow (albums and not jazz tracks with a 90 year old or random soundtrack singles). Taylor is dominate on streaming because she's constantly bombarding the algorithms with album after album, deluxe editions, re-releases, single versions, etc. Gaga's 3+ year gap and quiet flop releases like L4S are going to keep her in decline.

Leptine Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 The idea of a Taylor Swift collab doesn't excite me at all, especially for an already existing song or remix, I don't see their voices matching at all, Gaga can do much better and with more interesting artists. 1 1

The only collabs we’ll get within the next 15 months will be with Joaquin Phoenix.

Honestly the streaming era has ruined music because of this reason. Artists are constantly churning out “content” rather than putting out albums when they feel comfortable. Back when Gaga began people usually took at least two years between releases. 1 1
GGD Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 No more collabs for now, please. We had 3 on chromatica. If she has to collab with someone, I'd rather have it to be a new producer. that means no Blood Pop, DJWS or Madeon next era. 2
Dumbledore Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Speaking of collabs, a Babylon remix with Madonna was a lost opportunity to finally work with her. 2
Devin Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 We need more collabs tbh. Its nice seeing her work with other artists + do sounds outside her (Monster’s) comfort zone. 2

Artur Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Paparazzi's been steadily rising for days now. I think it may reach a new yearly peak this Friday. No idea why, though. Talent? 6
