Jessie Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) DWAS retroactively being treated as the LG7 lead just feels too scattershot for my taste and I feel each statement she's done on the album (without any kind of pre-order or official announcement despite the release date) feels like it's trying to manage expectations of her fans rather than just…leading and putting the work out there, and this now just feels the most egregious example of that approach. And yet, it's still the right decision that any other star in her position would make; DWAS is going to dominate throughout her release cycle too, so why try and deny it a home on the record? All the same my anticipation for the album has lessened now that we know this will be the song that will define it and with the era still feeling like it's in a weird place where it's started yet is stalling to get into gear. It's even made me less keen on playing Disease which I otherwise still think is a great pop song. I guess it's easier to feel deflated and a little dubious than chomping at the bit for the era to start. I'm going to enjoy the holidays and see how things roll out in the New Year. I do think Gaga is in a genuinely good place and I love that the song has become so huge for her despite my misgivings. Edited 23 hours ago by Jessie 4 1
Darkgalord Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I hope Bruno respects Gaga's decision and doesn't add DWAS on his Album as well.

Bad News Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Just now, Darkgalord said: I hope Bruno respects Gaga's decision and doesn't add DWAS on his Album as well. I was just thinking about this, nn. Inb4 he pulls a Prisoner and steals all the streams. 1
Edonis Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I fear some of you guys are taking the genre comments a little too seriously. We've heard several snippets and they all sound electronic, some leaning more into industrial and electropop sounds, while others (like the song in the Disease MV, or the leaked Eden snippets) sound a lot more synthpop in style. That doesn't mean they can't be cohesive or make sense on the album, especially if, lyrically, the record sticks to certain tropes or topics. DWAS being added to the end of the track list isn't changing anything lol 2

LewisK Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago DWAS being on LG7 leaves a little bit of sour taste in my mouth... It's a very charts not the arts move, and makes me fear about the album's direction. If they had done it like APT, I could still take it, but this feels more like a move Shakira would pull (btw Shakira was my OG fave before that) Anyway, I'll believe it's Interscope decision (which is probably the case). Still so excited for LG7 and loving Gaga, but it's sad all the dust chart obssesed fans are paying to Disease. For me it'll always be the lead, period. 4
Popular Post Blade Runner Posted 23 hours ago Popular Post Posted 23 hours ago (edited) Pointing out some very obvious things: "Putting DWAS on LG7 will provoke critics." They DO NOT like her. They didn't in the past during her gargantuan era, and they don't now, even when she panders to them (jazz). "It won't make LG7 cohesive." Haven't you been hearing what she's saying about her next album? In her own words, it's full of multiple genres and it will center around chaos. Gaga is not particularly known for having "cohesive" pieces of work, so get that idea out of your heads before you end up disappointed. "It looks bad." To you! Y'all are WEAK and are afraid of what homosexuals on Twitter and online forums say about her. They hate her no matter what. Grow a pair. Good for Gaga! Edited 22 hours ago by Blade Runner 11 6
Chaos Angel Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) The RS interview had me thinking that she can maybe divide the record into 3 parts like Chromatica. Especially when she said "after the first few songs, you think you know what you're getting into but you don't" Pt. 1 - Dark modern industrial pop songs. Gesaffelstein prod., Disease, Notorious Being, Abracadabra, Mustang, etc. Pt. 2 - Prince & David Bowie inspired "funky" tunes. Slowly getting closer to the retro vibe of DWAS but still dancey. Zombified sounds like it could fit here. Pt. 3 - Dreamy love ballads where DWAS can finally conclude the record. They can be separated by interludes that "push sound" like she said and bridge certain parts of the record together. The album can be a heroes' journey starting from the darkness with Disease (released near Halloween) and ending it with the light on DWAS (would be even more fitting if the album was released on Valentines day). Almodusa Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Even though it'll be a year old, having DWAS on the album may possibly help its Pop Vocal Album chances… and maaaaaybe help it towards AOTY if the rest of the album is of quality and smashes to some degree
Blade Runner Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Y'all want Gaga to fail and be a loser so f+cking bad. 5
JackOfHearts Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago So… does this mean DWAS is the lead for LG7 now? It doesn't feel that way. 1

Is that correct? But now that it's been nominated, what can they even do about it?
Baby Judas Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago won't be surprised if she scrap the entire album and replace the tracks with ballads, and DWAS as the lead. 1
Bhabylon Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago No way some of you guys are complaining about this 2
itsnotaegg Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago 2 minutes ago, Baby Judas said: won't be surprised if she scrap the entire album and replace the tracks with ballads, and DWAS as the lead. Let's not. She is obviously very proud of the songs she made for LG7 and we know what to expect, we already have disease, plus, all the snippets that sound amazing. One track won't magically make her replace half of the album with ballads. 1
Blade Runner Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Her fanbase can't even buy some sh+t on her store to make her chart decently. Y'all don't have a say about anything at all lol 9 1 2
Mariano Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago 6 minutes ago, JackOfHearts said: So… does this mean DWAS is the lead for LG7 now? It doesn't feel that way. Why do people care so much about these labels and so on I mean if we're being real clearly it wasn't the lead, like we were all there when it dropped and we were all there when LG7 lead single was announced for October and it came out and it's called Disease. Am I the only one who thinks it's not that confusing whatsoever..!? And it's not a big deal it happened this way either. I'm saying it as someone who was not fond of the idea of DWAS being on LG7, but to be honest I just didn't think they'd do it. Now that they've done it I honestly don't find it that big of a deal The only thing that matters is that DWAS is now part of LG7, Disease can still be its lead single and that's fine 1
Europe Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I love it so much when she properly sings the big sustained note in Shallow and she totally slayed it here . Super impressive.

Some liddso kinda deserve this nn, but honestly I've never been fond of the idea of her limiting herself and releasing an album like chroma where all the songs are the same genre. Gaga's best albums all have everything on them. And it seems like LG7 will be like that too. We ALL win this way too. Imagine wanting only HAC'd Ballads or only Bops, when we could have both..
Illuminati Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago What's with all the thinkpieces, just consider DWAS an encore to the album and move on 5 2
gagalips Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Throw Bruno a couple million for his gambling debt Gaga and keep the streams
