So... Are the streaming numbers and radio presence in tune with whatever was expected or considerably underwhelming? I've seen people freaking out on KCE but I can't make heads or tails of it.

Streaming is about on par what I predicted it would be based on the earliest numbers after release. The numbers at the end of today will probably be lower than yesterday as Sunday is a low streaming day. But in general, the numbers are quite low - the point that highlights this really is on day 2 SUBG which doesn’t have the *most* legacy streams already went higher than mine and I would expect both stronger and BOY to be higher for today’s update. 
 

That said, I think this particular song actually has longevity stream potential, therefore not just falling off as soon as it’s out of playlists (like some other lead singles from artists from her era). We’ll see how Atlantic play this game, but I think it’s quite clear so far that people are liking mine more and more with every listen and the Spotify streaming comparison numbers show that they made the right choice for the lead. The YouTube numbers are a bit confusing though as it appears although mine has more streams, me is more popular in he states

And to reiterate, I think it’s doing fine all things considered. Could be higher but easily could have been lower out the blocks. I expect it to take off in a week or two

Stanning success just makes being a stan miserable for the most part, especially if you’re stanning a 40 year old female artist who makes pop music and has never been a streaming force even when she was younger.

Well, to be fair when she was younger "streaming force" meant how much one would be played on MTV 

But yes, I agree. Personally, I don't mind the numbers. I'm usually more inclined to the indie side of the industry. I'm excited that at this level of her career, she's able to experiment with whatever she wants and isn't coerced to produce more bubblegum pop with "some people" just for the sake of making a hit.

i grew up listening to 'behind these hazel eyes' but i've never paid attention seriously to kelly's discography until now. 'mine' and 'me' have really clicked with me! i love them! what would you say are her 'best/'essential' albums or songs for a new listener? thanks!

Do you think a bubblegum smash could be released as a late single because it could benefit from the hype generated by the earlier ones?
