With these two announced festivals + the Glastonbury & Coachella rumors flying around, maybe she is planning on only doing festivals in 2024 while she's out there giving DL3 a big global promo campaign throughout the year à la 'Future Nostalgia'.

Then she could launch the tour in 2025 after a DL3 re-release and dedicate the entire year to just touring. Her previous tour was somewhat limited in scope because of Covid restrictions, but this time she should really go all out and do 100+ dates across all continents.

Never sure why I seem to stan pop girls whose fanbase get so agitated by the haters’ stupid criticisms. Dua gets her best ever debut numbers and somehow this is bad because…. We all expected Houdini to be a longterm thing like every other of her songs, so what exactly is the problem?

Is Lovin on me about Dua?

It’s kind of annoying that people expect her to be controversial to start making a name for herself as if her music isn’t basically the most consistently good to amazing tracks we get from pop girls nowadays

I hate that people expect scandals in order to attach themselves to someone. She’s not a vapid pop star, she’s incredibly outspoken about progressive politics, considerate of her fans, and so well spoken, approachable and kind.

I don’t know why stans want girls to be messy and off the wall. Dua doesn’t need to start pulling a Doja to gain fans, her music is doing that slowly but surely.

Oh God why.... I wanted a proper tour concert in an arena not a messy festival with expensive tickets, other artists I don't care about and having to stand hundreds of meters away from the stage :emofish:

It's also cursed cause last time she was here her set got cancelled last minute due to a storm :deadbanana2: @BlackoutZone

Y’all need to find a way to have more fun with it. Learn to troll and be unserious a bit. We need to be in for the ride, cause knowing our girl its gonna be a LONG one

I wanted to see her in concert again but the show she's doing here next year is at a festival :monkey: Unless she does another regular arena show I guess I won't be seeing her this tour

She didn’t plan the Puma promo well enough since she’s having to post pics with her black hair in the midst of rollout lmao

The Houdini thread :skull: The meltdowns, the ODH celebrating, the “it will smash after Christmas” narrative, the constant comparisons to other artists currently smashing. I know you guys are tired already :dies:

Dua definitely seems to be mimicking a more Beyoncé-like career shift right now, transitioning from radio friendly pop girl (Levitating, Don't Start Now, New Rules) into a more sophisticated, acclaimed respected artist and performer (Houdini). DL3 will probably be her 4, underperforming singles left and right but she will solidify a touring fanbase and won't really flop even if it seems like a career lull

i remember when wigdini came out and i said my least fav parts were the synths, they're just too retro after her retro era :giraffe:

the synths were a mistake!

The Houdini thread is so annoying.

We all knew exactly how this rollout would happen. We knew Christmas songs would overtake it, and it wouldn’t have any chance of growing in the US until New Years. Yet every day, ODH and some unfortunate Dua fans are in there sharing how awful the flop is.

Even if it never picks up again, it already outperformed so many of her songs. I don’t understand the panic.

+ it’s a really good song but ATRL doesn’t care unless the song becomes a smash hit from day 1

The song will do whatever it will do. I still find it funny that every single release it is the same cycle of hate :ahh:

But we need her to actually perform more than a Japanese tea ceremony for this to happen :monkey:

I agree but it’s also annoying that it seems like there isn’t a lot of era building at the moment. If the song flops, fine it is what it is, if it starts smashing on its own in 2 months, great, but it’s really disappointing that it doesn’t feel like an “era” atm, especially not compared to FN (which, whether it’s fair or not is the standard she’s getting held to at this time).

The Miss Me? post was great and got me hyped, as did the website texts and the teasers for Houdini but it kinda just feels like they abandoned the era already. Obviously that’s not true and there will probably be more of a push in early 2024, but.. yeah just not very exciting right now and it’s a double whammy with Houdini slowly dying off already.

This makes me nervous ngl…

she has a fanbase and strong musical presence here in the UK but I don’t know if it’s big enough to fill out a stadium…

hopefully if it’s true it’s announced immediately after the rumoured glasto set because she will gain a lot of new fans/casual listeners from that.

rewatched her Rock in Rio set and lemme just say.. I hope her next tour is way WAY less choreographed than FN tour was. She is in her head so much about what routine is next /where she should be standing / what move to hit, that she forgets to actually let go and have fun on stage. She barely smiled and her face was not serving stage presence most of the time. As much as the GP likes a cute dance routine - I'm sure they'd rather connect to an artist that's clearly happy to be on stage.
