But wow. What a moment.

Doing a bit of a retrospective deep dive, it seems like the rollout went for Homecoming:

* April 7 announcement

* April 8 trailer reveal

* April 17 premiere

Manifesting something similar...

The delusions…

The delusions…

Of...what? Facts? Data? Information from recent drops?

Because we want a video that is not here yet does not mean the campaign is in chaos. Not knowing plans does not equate to said plans not existing.

While it could very well be me with pie on face come July 29th, do you know how craaaay all of the meltdowns will read in hindsight if/when she comes blazing with boom, pow, pow roll-out?

The way all the complaining girls screamed the loudest in excitement when the cover was revealed will be the exact same thing that happens when ish starts dropping.

Can't we all just...chill?!

The rollout started more than 4 weeks ago and nothing’s happened since. Sorry for not being filled with blissful optimism.

Shade lol.

I've always said I'll eat humble pie if she + her team fumble the launch.

That said, I like to be evidence-led rather than emotion-led. And I think that's where the divide is in the Base.

Like others have pointed out, the Homecoming Netflix announcement came 10 days before (which by comparison would be today). While the Lemonade trailer dropped a week before (which in this instance would be this Friday).

At an extreme, I'll give them until next Monday (week of album).

Should all of those windows pass, then I'll probably hit the panic button.

I'm just not sold on the idea that a superstar of Beyonce's magnitude with the type of backing she has will bungle her most important release since Lemonade. Randomly and for no reason. Especially with how much is riding on this for everyone (e.g. Columbia/Sony's marketshare, Live Nation's touring gross etc).

We also also KNOW she moves in silence. Frustrating but fact for the last 10+ years. She's not about to drop a tracklist (hello, leaks?!) or pre-empt any of her moves until it's time. Crumbs aren't a thing in Bey land.

She likes to event-ize her every move, something which is not possible should she play the crumb game. Imagine she was all over IG stories over the last 6 weeks, spamming various covers, or spotted out and about. It noramlizes her presence and IMO takes away from the "OMG" of whatever she's about to drop.

IMO, I'm bracing myself to hear that she was shooting/editing the film right up until the submission date, while simultaneously rehearsing for some kind of live activation. Hell, none of us had a single clue about British Vogue being shot way back in April. In short, I feel this window of silence will make a lot of sense in due course.

Perfectly put! I honestly do not expect any hard core promo or content re the album until a week leading up to the release.

at this point i'm expecting something similar to Kendrick's last album launch

Just unabashed misery and pessimism.

Y’all are the only ones in here talking about losing interest. When it hits july 29 at midnight, everyone and their mama will be tuning in :gaycat5:

There was a certain pop star who promoted her album aggressively and look how it turned out for her :coffee2:

Yes, 6 million sales and #1 in almost every country on the planet. I’m sure she’s absolutely devastated :clown:

I sincerely hope RENAISSANCE can come close to that lol

I love the diversity of opinions and our collective love for Bey, but (and I don't say this as shade) it always baffles me when some posters are able to put aside everything they know of her + her rollouts (for better and for worse) to fit a narrative they've decided is the case.

Riddle me this.

How, all at once, is it possible to know she moves in silence, know she has often dropped things we have no clue about, know she doesn't play with her solo launches, know she's been shooting a lot of late, know that BMS is doing well as a multi-week top 10, know there's a release date, and know she has deals on deals when it comes to platforms...only to put all of that aside in the name of pushing a doom and gloom narrative?

Being annoyed at the lack of BMS video is one thing and is a fair stance to take. But using that to inform some kind of "chaos behind the scenes" narrative is confusing af to me.

IMO, I've always looked at stan spaces like this as quite unique in that in knowing/following ish more than the average joe, our understanding of ish is shaped a little different to the non-stan even when it comes to critiquing Bey.

Top 5 on radio! :jonny4:

Who would’ve ever predicted radio would carry us this era

Posted

We all know she was inspired by Tyler Perry’s operation in Atlanta (champagne bottles crash against the stage caption :toofunny2:) so I wouldn’t be surprised if she has a smaller scale filming building she owns.

the new game of thrones show and other Disney shows have been using virtual sets and I would not be surprised if she has too. It would explain the total lack of set leaks even though we’ve seen footage of Julius outside buildings and Neal has been working nonstop

At least radio is doing a lot better than streams.

The only reason I think the doomsayers look foolish is that looking back 6 years ago (jeez), it was mainly the exact same characters losing their **** in the lull between Formation and Lemonade. Even in the week between the Lem announcement teaser and the premiere, many in here were convinced she was releasing a greatest hits and that the film would be a recreation of past eras to support her GH tour:lmao:

And Ms @Bey Admired, I also seem to remember you being among the leaders of that particular movement :cm:

This sounds good, I concur.

I've been thinking this lately.

Although I did kind of hoped it would be a more eventful wait and more interesting in the point of view of fans' experience.

Let's wait, she certainly has something in store.

Who would have thought she just needed to send a pop song to pop radio. :clap3:

With an increasing radio audience BMS can easily reach the top 5 on Hot 100 when the album comes, even top 3?

Posted

BMS been organically stable, so Top 5 is likely.

y’all need to save the meltdowns for if the album comes and there’s no visual :redface:
