imagine on the 29th, she drops:

- a whole ass album

- 28 pages booklet

- a poster

- alternate cover

- 4 different poses

- 16 music videos

this would be too much :deadbanana2:

I mean, they're gonna watch the movie and then listen to the music when they go about their day. They aren't going to be handcuffed to the couch.

Just saw JayZ did an interview on Peacock. Watch her premiere the visuals on Peacock

What would you rather? An era where she ignores us before the drop (Renaissance), after the drop (ST, Lemonade), or after the drop but is contractually obligated to post sponsored ads for luxury items so that’s all the activity we get even though there’s a brand new album out (Chromatica)?

Tbh the surprise drops seem better imo.

Even the meltdowns were more entertaining cause it was discussing the unknown + we had more material vs having a date and letting expectations/speculations get the best of us.

I agree with this. We need the STREAMS.

BMS video first and then the album.

idgaf if she debuts with 110k, i don't know how anyone can want to wait for as much content as possible after this unbearable silent wait.

if she drops the album without a visual y'all will be dragging her by wednesday of the release week

BMS before the album is a visual. :gayoncecat1:

Officially ten days left. :jonny5:

She can’t afford to not have a visual at this point. Would be different if she was promoting the album since it was announced. She has done nothing. I still don’t get why she announced it 6 weeks in advance. 4 was long enough.

This is some kind of roll out :ahh:

I watched Gaga's acceptance speeches at the VMAs in 2020 because I hadn't watched them before in full and when she won the tricon award she said "I know that culture may feel less alive in some ways, I know a renaissance is coming and the wrath of pop culture will inspire you and the rage of art will empower you..." I have a feeling she knew back then Beyonce's plans and didn't randomly use renaissance even though the meaning of the word fits the idea of what she was saying.

Ohh so you think Gaga is a feature?

Maybe that’s why things are so secretive around the tracklist??

I know Gaga is very particular when she expresses herself, especially in speeches and interviews, so it seems unlikely that her using renaissance was just a coincidence.

Honestly the visuals should debut with the album for impact alone. I don't care about her streams & clearly neither does she lol

Having the visuals debut a month later will suck all the excitement from it, will anyone even care? IDK.

Obviously depends whether the visuals are just music video or a bigger connected Netflix project. If its the former, I don't care either way. She can release one mv per month. If its the later, debut alongside the album as a film. If its good, it will create way more traction for the album in the longrun. I'm not expecting ASIB levels of traction but that's essential the goal.

A film is going to be released with the album. That's the only logical answer at this point. I think the songs are so connected to each other in terms of visuals, she doesn't want to give anything away by releasing a music video before the album drops. I think it's a ''it will make sense only when the album drops'' type of scenario we are experiencing here. Must be. Anything else we are going into bizzare territory, even for Bey lol.

I wonder if the entire album is going to be as impersonal as BMS. I wouldn't blame her after Lemonade.

I don't see BMS as impersonal.

I think Break My Soul was very personal in many ways. Especially with all the **it she got during BIK and the sh** she has been getting unfairly even for little stuff like wearing a purse. Add to that chaos in our politics and covid (across the globe)- she's an artist and artists feel things a lot. I do feel she had to re-find her motivation for moving forward. Even the "bey is back and I'm sleeping real good at night" I read as her talking about finding her grounding again and being able to sleep better - remember she talked about her insomnia in harpers bazaar interview - she talked feeling overworked and stressed (especially with family duties too).

I personally think that since IASF and 4, bey has found meaning in making music that comes from her heart and experience. That complete honesty and heart, while framing it as universal themes for everyone to relate to, is what has been elevating her projects to new heights. It's when it's honest and it tells her story and legacy and relates to and impacts people and the culture. Of course as queen of anthems it is often tweaked to be even more relatable and general for the public. And I think this song fit the bill perfectly for being both. From her heart and feelings and for everyone to relate to and feel inspired by.

Oh ok, I haven’t really been following any of the girls latest eras. But IASF obviously did very well with a lukewarm reception so it doesn’t matter so long as the songs are embraced by listeners that’s the only thing that matters reception wise. She already had her acclaim era with Lem (and ST).

I honestly think she going to release the video to BMS when the album drops and then have the film release a few weeks later with the trailer coming that day or a few days after :gaycat:

Shade lol.

I've always said I'll eat humble pie if she + her team fumble the launch.

That said, I like to be evidence-led rather than emotion-led. And I think that's where the divide is in the Base.

Like others have pointed out, the Homecoming Netflix announcement came 10 days before (which by comparison would be today). While the Lemonade trailer dropped a week before (which in this instance would be this Friday).

At an extreme, I'll give them until next Monday (week of album).

Should all of those windows pass, then I'll probably hit the panic button.

I'm just not sold on the idea that a superstar of Beyonce's magnitude with the type of backing she has will bungle her most important release since Lemonade. Randomly and for no reason. Especially with how much is riding on this for everyone (e.g. Columbia/Sony's marketshare, Live Nation's touring gross etc).

We also also KNOW she moves in silence. Frustrating but fact for the last 10+ years. She's not about to drop a tracklist (hello, leaks?!) or pre-empt any of her moves until it's time. Crumbs aren't a thing in Bey land.

She likes to event-ize her every move, something which is not possible should she play the crumb game. Imagine she was all over IG stories over the last 6 weeks, spamming various covers, or spotted out and about. It noramlizes her presence and IMO takes away from the "OMG" of whatever she's about to drop.

IMO, I'm bracing myself to hear that she was shooting/editing the film right up until the submission date, while simultaneously rehearsing for some kind of live activation. Hell, none of us had a single clue about British Vogue being shot way back in April. In short, I feel this window of silence will make a lot of sense in due course.

I do feel the same and to be honest puta can be happy that no matter what happens or doesnt happen, the album release is in sight. That alone gets me through this unexpected drought post BMS release
