ST was far more compelling than 4. 4 is great for live performances and translates better live than ST but ST was a far better album than 4, and it had different genres and similar message as 4 (love, feminism, and life/legacy) but it flowed better. 4 gives cruise ship or cookout music and it's great and definitely top tier but she wasn't really saying nothing on that album like she was with B'Day, Lemonade, or ST where she really had something to SAY I disagree, I've always believed 4 was the superior album, and Beyoncé sees eye to eye with me. On a serious note, she was actually saying a lot on 4, it was more of a statement of who she is as a musician, rather than simple storytelling. She did so not only by referencing the artists that she looks up to, but also by putting in all the genius and creativity originating from her mind and soul. No other artist could remotely come up with such complex and original vocal productions and arrangements. In fact, that's what I meant when I used the adjective "compelling" in my previous post. Let's compare Party, just to make an example, to the production of the majority of her songs after 2011, and you'll see what I'm trying to say. The complexity of the former can't be defeated. Which is why I love Renaissance and CC more. There are definitely more layers on these albums. Edited January 16 by Pepo 1

It just recently got a second life through tiktok and gen z is just getting introduced to it, I wouldn't be surprised if most think it's a new song even
Iaintsorry Posted January 16 Posted January 16 What would yall think if her next tour was like a I Am…Yours or Renaissance (opening section only) type show? Like a setlist of her ballads + slowing down her biggest hits? I feel like Cowboy Carter could lend itself to something like this and we all know if she had it her way, she would just stand there and sing for the whole show with no choreo or heavy production. 1

Alex Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I actually need "Party" BACK on the setlist somehow... it's time for her to act like that was also a top 10 smash hit. 4
BnPac Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I love all the Jealous' love. I remember saying it would have been an amazing single along with Mine. 1

Crayzik Posted January 16 Posted January 16 B's voice on Psychedelic & Soft Rock tracks will be an experience I fear 4
Lose My Breath Posted January 16 Posted January 16 According to HDD, CC ended with 1.4 million copies sold in 2024 Overall it'll probably end up around 2xp in the long run 1
Kalmanta Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Apparently two dates for her shows at Sofi Stadium showed up on Songkick, July 16th and 17th.

BnPac Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) I'm listening to B'Day and seriously, that album is LIT! To make it at that age. I always get this little feeling of awe when I listen to it. I was just reminded how great Upgrade U is. The slam dunk it could have been as a single. Also I discovered there's a version on Spotify of B'Day without Listen, I had no idea. I bought the CD on the first week(s) of release and there was an encore with Listen so I always assumed that was the standard. Edited January 16 by BnPac 5
Mr. Specialist Posted January 16 Posted January 16 The announcement is definitely tour related. Get your coins ready. 1
Chris Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Again for the millionth time, get your coins and your credit cards ready. If you don't have it, you can call Tyrone, you don't have to lie Craig. 4

I feel the same way about self-titled. It's totally brilliant music but there's a real melancholy and sense of grief that threads the record together which makes it sort of a heavy listen? That's not a drag, just a comment on how effective the atmosphere is on those tracks.
