I'm sure this has been pointed out but I find it interesting the opening song on Renaissance she talks about her un-American life. Yet Cowboy Carter is obviously her most American-like album. And I feel like it is somehow connected and we'll see how in the visuals.

they're both talking about the same thing...

in I'M THAT GIRL, she's talking about how her being Black is "un-American" and especially her and Jay being a Black, rich power couple being against the norm.

in AMERIICAN REQUIEM, she's mourning the American dream, the idealistic views of this place, and talks about "a pretty house that we never settled in" and burying those (white) American ideals.

it makes a lot of sense how COWBOY CARTER is the first album in the trilogy and "AMERIICAN REQUIEM" is the thesis statement, really. "I'M THAT GIRL" reestablishes it.

From now on, those bait threads are just going to get a single reply from me mentioning her 30 year career.

Bodyguard outstreamed 16C on Spotify this year wow :skull:

Spoiler

I'm going to be a negative nancy here but the worst part about the trilogy is that she has not only killed the eras while they're actively happening but I feel like she has stripped them of the ability to grow later like 4 and it's singles. All of 4lop's singles did poorly but she performed them - mainly RTW - like they were multi-week #1 smashes plus they had music videos. And as we know, RTW and Love On Top have become classics for her. Even I Care and Countdown are well known to casual fans partially thanks to Beychella. I remember telling a friend of mine that RTW peaked at #29 and she was SHOCKED because she thought it was one of her biggest hits. :rip:

But do we think that could happen with any other songs from renny and CC? She'll eventually release the visuals and they'll be well received because it'll be high quality like everything she does but it won't cause any kind of resurgence or boost for any songs aside from BMS, Cuff It, TH'E. And despite how much everyone hates CC, there are so many excellent songs that could easily have become classics for her: Ya Ya, Bodyguard, Tyrant, Riiverdance, II Hands, SHB, hell even American Requiem.

Whatever. I know it's already been discussed a million times and I just need to accept it. I can't believe she hates me like this :dies:

i wonder if she'll go back to standard album drops once she finishes the act's trilogy……we haven't had a traditional album release since 4 i'd be perched.

Does Paramount Plus own Dreamgirls and have it in their film catalog? (It is a Paramount Studios movie)

Cadillac Records should definitely go to Netflix, especially because Beyonce has some production ownership of the film.

Cuff It will probably hit 1 billion on Spotify this year, Texas potentially will, but specially if she tours

Texas won't. It would need over 1 million a day for the whole year.

Cuff It needs 400k a day too.

That ship has sailed, IMO. A standard drop opens up albums to vulnerability if the lead singles are not received well, and creates additional opportunities for leaks (as more players / corporate partners are needed = more eyes/ears seeing/hearing the project before release). That old way of doing things is exactly why 4 leaked a month early... and I don't think B will ever forget that, especially because 4 was her first "labor of love", research/samples/archivist project (Lemonade / The Gift / Homecoming / Trilogy are others).

Still don't understand why they didn't just directly announce whatever is happening on the 14th after the performance. Why make an announcement of an announcement? The entire situation is confusing.

the setting just represents the beyoncé bowl and transitioning to the next part of the era, its a trick

it's not an announcement of an announcement, it's a warning. bey always releases something when she puts out a date. its the visuals

I think Hive needs to remember that the "traditional" releases aren't even being done by non-Beyoncé pop girls. The 2 biggest albums of the year, TTPD and HMHAS, had everything drop at once. A move Bey pioneered with ST. ES had just 1 single pre-release, which is what Bey also did for CC and Renaissance. The only people dropping multiple singles pre-release are new artists who need to build hype before releasing their projects (i.e. Sabrina this year).

So yeah, right now there is nothing unconventional about the release strategies Bey is doing for the Acts. The issue is coming after release when she abandons the entire album after just 1 month.

I think that it was shot inside the stadium because she shot it while rehearsing for the halftime and has no deeper meaning lol
