mariposa Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 This was her best halftime show. I wouldn't trade out any of the songs. The way she made full use of the field Watching the audience cams really gives you a better picture. It was a spectacle 1

Negiiiii Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I saw a video of the cameraman's work when right before Buckin? he's being grabbed by the back walking backwards WHEEEW that camera work is CRAZY
Burn Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) For anyone who's wondering who it was: it was Cal McNair (Chairman & CEO of the Houston/Texans) and his wife. I guess he only agreed to greenlight the performance if he got to be part of it so Bey had no option but to include them. Edited December 27, 2024 by Burn 1
Marla Singer Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 That was insane, one of her best performances ever, one of THE best performances EVER! 2
Shinning Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 She really went hard on the choreo in a way she never really did during Renaissance World Tour. That knee is HEALED. 7
Lovett Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Just rewatched it with my parents and they were gagged.

Golden Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I actually loved the opening so much Even if her vocals were pre-recorded, her galloping into the stadium on that white horse waas just so beautiful. It was a gorgeous build up to Blackbiird too. The only part I didn't like as much was Jolene, I wish she would've included the part with the choir singing. That would've been an even better transition to Texas Hold 'Em.

Golden Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 It honestly just amazes me how much she was able to squeeze in 13 minutes and still pull it off to perfection. She went from the horse to the stage, to a truck, to the car, then was lifted up in the air. There was so much going on without it feeling scattered. I don't know how she does it
ScorpiosGroove Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 i'm sorry but you have to be pretty stupid to think the announcement has anything to do with act III 1

There was a lagging or synching problem with the live that gave that impression. But even Post and the dancers had that so that means it wasn't prerecorded imo. I think the horse part was lipped but from Yaya on, I think it was live. Edited December 26, 2024 by BnPac

That knee is HEALED. Was waiting for someone to say it. As part of Choreo Hive (lol), a part of me (k)NEEDED her to get back to action on that front and she did. The knee issues were totally understandable for RWT (and it makes me wonder about how much of the show's original vision and execution was tweaked as a result), but seeing her killing the Sweet Honey choreo and just generally being Sasha all the way through was a joy! 2

Jon Snow Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 1 hour ago, mariposa said: The performance was entirely live (sans the pre-recorded intro, which was not intended to be passed off as live anyway). Don't be dumb. Even regarding the intro, it seems that the reason for the slight vocal mismatch on the Netflix stream was they were overlaying her live vocals from below the field over the precorded video? And it only switches out when the girls join for BLACKBIIRD? But I can't fully tell. There was certainly a problem with synching. It was bothering me while I watched it. But all the fan made videos sound very different and better than the Netflix stream. I guess they'll fix it before uploading
Marla Singer Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I thought the intro with 16C and Blackbird was beautiful, and I can see why she didn't do American Requiem. Starting with an epic stadium anthem and then having to bring the energy down for two quieter songs, and then go back to high energy with YA YA just wouldn't have worked as well - it absolutely works on the album, but not for a ~10 minute performance where all the songs except Texas were cut down. The alternative would had to have been opening with AR and going straight into YA YA - but entering on horseback singing about her own life and career's journey, and then giving the girls their moment when they join her on Blackbird was so perfect and completely lines up with the concept of the album. I was glad to see Shaboozey there too. I was surprised at how many songs she was able to fit into this, and I hope she does another medley at the Grammys for the songs she left out. But it just goes to show how great this album is and how it needs to be toured in full.
Draper. Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 If it's really a tour, everything will be leaked by the 14th… And it still doesn't make sense to release an art book that was obviously gonna be the tour book.
Kingdom Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 if live nation RT it, the announcement is related to shows. Either a tour or a residency.

Jon Snow Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Maybe she opened it with 16 CARRIAGES because it's about her leaving home ("Had to leave my home at an early age") and now she's back home singing about it 1 1
