FLAallday Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I expect for her to release something for purchase. Capitalist Carter will have her payday with so many eager watchers willing to spend their Xmas money on something for her riding the wave of the Christmas show. 2
Jon Snow Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I'm glad she'll never be a person who would put Savage Remix on RENAISSANCE just to get some quick lil' streams. That's the reason she's where she is now. She would never sacrifice her artistic vision just because something would benefit her. That's the most important thing about her art since 4 10

I hope it's not a yee haw fest though Expand It's been so interesting ruminating on Halftime with fellow stans both online and offline. There's such an interesting divide. Here and on socials, all the dream setlists etc are very CC-centric. Yet, a constant I hear offline from fans equally as dedicated as us is the desire for more than just CC songs. I guess a point that highlights that the album can't rival Rennie in terms of its GP appeal (which was never going to really happen in being a "Beyonce Country album". A concept that, up until this year, almost sounded like an oxymoron). I personally sit in the middle and want her and whoever is music directing this to go ALL OUT. Punch-ins of classics (CIL, DIL etc), sprinkles of Rennie, all within the "world" and soundscape of what we know to be a CC-heavy show. Edited December 19, 2024 by Cbreezy
ShouldersSideways Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I wish I was as convinced as some of you that visuals were coming on Christmas, but I truly think she's gonna give a powerhouse performance, and then exit the stage and that's it. We'll be lucky if they upload the performance to Netflix standalone afterward. 5 1

Kristie Kuwa Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 (edited) All I know is the Doechii collab is being worked on as we speak. Theres NO way Bey and Jay havent taken notice of Doechii after the Grammy noms, and after seeing that TinyDesk performance there's no way Bey didnt hit her up. She represents everything Bey adores - new approach, upcoming artists, focus on craftsmanship, black female perspective and perfection, a performer. Doechii sounded incredible on Catfish in her set, which has quite the Rock feel. I just know shes going to explode next year and Bey will be the one to push her into stardom (just like she did with Shaboozey). Edited December 19, 2024 by Kristie Kuwa 2 1

Just as a reminder, by Q3 2024 Netflix had 282.7M subscribers, almost double that of Disney+. Netflix's global reach and vitality is 2nd to none in the streaming industry. Expand Netflix (Homecoming, Obsessed) is also her best partner come awards season. Their solid campaigning for Homecoming got her Emmy attention (6 nominations?), some wins at prestigious documentary awards ceremonies, and a Grammy for Best Music Film. (I hope the director's cut of the Renaissance World Tour Film ends up here too.) HBO/Max (Lemonade, Life Is But A Dream, her OTR I tour special) is a close second with the Peabody Award and a few long-form video / documentary wins. (If OTR II: Live in South Africa was filmed, I would give it to them.) Finally, Disney/Disney+ (Black Is King, ABC's Making The Gift, both Lion King films) is not the best awards season campaigner for work they don't fully own, but remains a dark horse, especially if they logically follow TLK and adapt the second, straight-to-DVD film for a live-action theatrical release. Beyoncé (and Blue) might be working there for another 5 years. 1 1

Lil Kim, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Nicki, Trina, Meg, Cardi, Azealia Banks, Tierra Whack, Ice Spice, Glo, Coi Leray, Doechii, Melii, and the list goes on and on. I even remember back when Brianna Perry was front-and-center on Beyoncé's website with her "Marilyn Monroe" video for a few months: After opening for RWT, and her AHAP remix gaining some traction online, I'm sure Doechii was already on Beyoncé's radar well before the breakout this year. kimberly Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I don't think she'd drop visuals on Christmas night. Not a good time to drop something new. I can see her somehow announcing... something during/at the end of her halftime show. either way, I'm going to lower my expectations. more likely we'll get a performance that is unwatchable due to buffering and never re-uploaded
