FLAallday Posted May 2 Posted May 2 If yall could relive one Beyoncé or DC era over again which would it be?

Other eras may have had more promo, but this one had all I need. The mini-doc, all the videos, she was serving looks left and right, TWO tours, live performances (the VMAs alone was crazy), Beyonce X 10. She really mastered the art of being present without being in your face that era. She never really went away. 1 3

Not to mention the insanely positively public reception she received that era, it was fully like being on cloud 9 3 minutes ago, Devin said: TWOTW Honestly that might be my #2. I just gave Self-Titled a run through while I showered and got ready for bed and man 😮💨 BEYONCÉ remains my favorite Bey album. It makes me so happy to listen to. I literally get this warm feeling. I love that album DOWN. I would like to revisit that era more than any other. Minus the Drunk in Love lipsync. Thats pissed me off for a good 48 hours 😂 3 1
Hallad173 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 4 is a close second. It was Her flop era and I decided to check out the leaked songs on youtube and BGC (iykyk). my bestie and I bopped to damn near every song we heard, that was when I first decided to stan. All those damn 4lop and 4closure reads, What a beautiful time 😮💨

Aside from the perfection of it all, the audience reactions the whole performance amplified the iconery

I did watch it with my boyfriend a the time. He wasn't a hater, but I could literally feel us both freeze and him slowly glance over at me so I just didn't give any reaction. 4
Hallad173 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 I know yall go hard for her 2016 VMA but it's always gonna be her VANGUARD performance in 2014 for me. It was so much more fun to watch.
Devin Posted May 2 Posted May 2 self titled era was insane. that will always be my fav album & era. not only she made history, that was the moment ik she wanted to align with the greats and establish herself as a legend. i remember freshman year ppl were so convinced she'd have blue and become this nostalgia artist. then senior year she came back and everybody was obsessed with her. i was so tired of mfs singing drunk in love – i think thats when i really fell in love with jealous, mine, haunted, etc. 2

To relieve that era would be a gag especially with all of those monster singles I remember the night all the :30 second teasers dropped on YouTube. At that point, I have already given up that we'll get a single, let alone an entire album. There were rumors the album was scrapped, too. So I ignored those clips and chalked them up to being fanmade BS. I didn't even watch any. I saw the thumbnails and thought, "FAKE!" Little did I know they were real and I WAS GAGGED the next day. I have all these songs and videos to consume but couldn't because I had to go to class (college) UGH!!!!
king_queen Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Beyoncé had the world in the palm of her hand after ST. Bc she would've been dragged hard if she were to give that Drunk in Love performance at the Grammys today. I sometimes think that's the real reason they didn't give AOTY to her. 1

My personal theory is she was super nervous because it's the first time she was getting on stage in front of her peers, legends, and the industry at large with her new sexual image. The Beyonce pre-ST was always praised as being so classy and presentable, unlike the other girls who were overtly sexual that cursed, etc. Like, she literally grew up on the GRAMMYs stage in front of these people and now she's up there singing about riding her husband's dick in a skimpy outfit. I think the nerves got the best of her and she forgot what part she was lipping. 1

She was absolutely in her head the entire time and to date it's probably one of the only live performances, certainly in recent times, where you can visibly see it. I couldn't be making it up but I feel like I remember her being announced super last minute as well as a performer, so I wouldn't be surprised if she had extremely limited if any, real rehearsal time. regardless it's easily her worst Grammy performance ever and she'd be the first to say it, which is a shame considering how anthemic the song usually is live.
