AxelFox Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Renaissance was already the worst pop girl era of all time, and she is challenging that with Cowboy Carter now Besides the lack of music videos, performances, or pretty much any album content post release that we dealt with for Renaissance now we don't have the visual teaser and a booklet/proper photoshoot either, hell not even a physical version of the album with all the songs on it 2
Jon Snow Posted May 1 Posted May 1 After Megan and Kendrick stuff, she must be done with Drake for good and I'm glad. I know they did two amazing songs together (and whatever that third was), but I don't want him anywhere near her again 2
Kisuke Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 (edited) The way I just went with my best friend to pick his wedding suit, and the store played bodyguard Parkwood needs to scrap most wanted asap and make bodyguard the single. Shoot a one shot video with B driving trough LA while sunset is happening, thats all it needs Edited May 1 by Kisuke 3

Even Twitter Hive seems to have tuned out. Didn't matter that "II Most Wanted" was finally sent to radio. Nobody moved. I think we're all just tired of the games. This ain't high school like that other lady's fan base is. 7

Cbreezy Posted May 1 Posted May 1 5 minutes ago, Tangane said: Oh yeah no! For Beyoncé's standards, this era is definitely not over! It's fun because since there is nothing happening, she could release Bodyguard during summer 2025 and I wouldn't be surprised! She can do whatever she wants and we will seethe/eat it up (you pick!). Yes and no. I'm definitely not apart of the "era is over" crew because, like @Kristie Kuwa said, this isn't **that** different from Rennie (which essentially spanned from 2022 to almost 2024 between the album, tour, and movie run). The issue here, which the Rennie era showed in black and white, is that post-launch window it's very hard to "re-heat" any of the songs she didn't capitalize off the early momentum of. In short, there are zero guarantees we or the GP will "lap up" the eventual single to the point of it being a success. Cuff It went viral and they (eventually) seized the moment and won. But songs technically don't have to go TikTok viral to be a success. They simply require the full works: streaming push, radio push, and dare I say performances (or at the very least visibility). The vibe I get is that Columbia/Parkwood/perhaps even Bey herself prefer her post-album release tracks to "present themselves" and they then "attempt" to work them from there. And it never works. AHAP with Kendrick did nothing. My House (though not on Rennie, but part of the era) did nothing. And nothing else went viral from the album beyond the early buzz around Alien. The best we can hope for IMO is that whenever the visuals arrive, they drop a video on YouTube for "the" focus track (pretty similar to how she did for Formation and again with BIK) and simultaneously make that "the" single across streaming and radio. 3

They didn't even wanna do it. They wanted to send CHURCH GIRL to radio. And the second time they went viral for AHAP, they didn't do it either! Until months later when no one was making TikToks for it anymore. Mess. 2
ScorpiosGroove Posted May 1 Posted May 1 3 pages of b'day vs 4 talk but we can't complain and call this ugly era boring ? 3 5

I'm pretty indifferent to Drake (I'll bop if the song is good), but much like Taylor, the mass pull he has can't really be denied. So, in being Team Bey first and foremost, I've always liked her link-up with acts like that (#ChartHive). That said, the minute he pathetically came for Meg I knew that was a wrap. Bey/Jay, Parkwood/Roc Nation are all essentially the same unit. There's no optically ok angle for Bey/Drake collab to happen anytime soon. Anyway, I like that her collabs are still skewing mainstream but totally left of the expected. Keeps her interesting. 1
BnPac Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Still nothing? I couldn't even find CC's thread on the 1st page. The era is really over, huh? I saw that she's down to #4 on BB.
sillycilla Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Someone pointed out a while back that even Sade released at least two big videos before she disappeared. I have no idea what Beyonce is event attempting, so stupid. 2
Havoc Posted May 1 Posted May 1 It's sad that she doesn't care about creating eras anymore when visuals/performances are literally the main reason why she has such a strong fanbase. 5
ScorpiosGroove Posted May 1 Posted May 1 yeah her fanbase will progressively die out and you don't grab many new fans with unpromoted albums and uneventful eras. not catering to your core audience is one thing, but when you do that you have to compensate a little to keep everyone happy. and you certainly won't achieve that by withholding visuals and performances and doing virtually nothing while you hide in your hideous, airport looking ass house 1 2
Lose My Breath Posted May 1 Posted May 1 10 hours ago, AxelFox said: Hell no, the only reason there's even an argument for 4 over B'Day is BECAUSE of the expanded version Take Dance For You out and it's arguably her weakest album. Dead serious. I know it might sound silly because it's just one song but it really brought more structure to the album and made the entire thing sound and work better as a whole. Not only is it the best track by a huge margin, but it was marvelously placed in the middle of the tracklist making it the centerpiece of the project. The album slowly builds up towards it, peaks with it and then slowly descends again from its highs making for an incredible listening experience. 4 radiates outwards from Dance For You in a similar way that Renaissance radiates outwards from Virgo's Groove. I love Dance For You, and Schoolin Life, but I just use the deluxe edition
Brikenbur Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) What's on the second billboard on the act ii teaser? This is where I'm at now. It kind of gives me clown vibes idk Edited May 1 by Brikenbur
Blue Rose Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Is the euphoria of the new album release worth the sadness, despair and frustration that always follows?
Pheromosa Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) When this album lasts a shorter time in the top 10 than Eternal Sunshine.. Edited May 1 by Pheromosa 3
Adivnoir Posted May 1 Posted May 1 My two cents, i think she should II Hands II Heaven to urban radio and give that side of her audience something to eat on. If they played Texas and 16 carriages they will wear "hands" out. as far as the era I'm beginning to realize that each album is like a single to the "Trilogy Era." This is one big project fleshed out over three acts with each act having its own moment similar to a single run. that's why I don't believe she (and I use this loosely) cares about having so many singles for each album. The leads do the necessary work to get the hype for the act and then she prepares for the accompanying tour (makes edits on the final visual), and prepares for the next act. While the current frustration is understandable the universe that she's building is going to be well worth the payoff. 1
