Burn Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I don't follow charts like that so I didn't realise TXHE is still at #5 on the Hot 100. I know it will get kicked out of the top 5 next week tho due to #that album. I just thought it's a great accomplishment that it's managed to stay top 5 up to now. If I hadn't just checked I would've thought it was way lower by now. 2

Disrespecting these eras is starting to turn me off as a 20+ year fan. We had this convo on discord yesterday and I do agree. I wonder if the initial plane was to drop a triple album (yes, exactly) and if RWT was intended to be her last tour since it took so long to create its concept. She could have retired by now. Which is why the the visuals look linked and all, but for some reasons this plan fell through. 3 hours ago, AxelFox said: Honestly I don't care about the movie not being online. I watched the tokyo upload a couple times but yeah I just don't like what they did with it. I much prefer watching this instead, even though a lot of performances are cut in half. I think I've watched it at least once a month since the end of last year. An actual performance recording. Renaissance Film featuring Ann marie latrassi as Beyoncé can stay on the shelf. Thank you! Actually that film wasn't even my cup of tea. I really loved the BTS footage, but the concert itself... Meh Hence I would download such HD recordings by fans so I can re-watch them whenever I want. PS: I have the full concert of that particular show on my phone. Edited April 27 by Pepo

luxurious Posted April 27 Posted April 27 agree with the ppl who think she's over the whole pop star thing. I think she'll still release music but it'll be like every 5-8 years once the trilogy is done - and she'll focus on cecred similar to Rihanna and her ventures. Being a fan is just really frustrating because I didn't really start stanning until 2019 (homecoming was literally the soundtrack of my life for a while) so experiencing eras like the gift, renaissance and now CC BACK to BACK is just sad icl. If she's gonna tour act 2 and 3 together then CC will literally get nothing except for a flop second single like at least do a tiny desk or one weekend only intimate concert The eras never do the music any justice. some ppl might think it's dumb but the most iconic eras which are looked back on the most fondly (and have the most longevity over time) are the fully fleshed out ones. An album drop, 2 singles (without music videos mind you) and a "world" tour that only went to North America and Europe is NOT an era idc. Agreed with everyone on the lack of visuals really hurting her success - I mean it's no surprise that the most memorable and beloved part of the renaissance era is the tour where we see the music come to life through visual spectacle, performance and imagery! I love renaissance the album but the fact that I was able to see her perform it live gives the era an extra nostalgic, emotional feel for me Also do you guys think the visuals will live up to the hype? I fear the long wait is gonna have the opposite effect where no matter how good they are ppl are gonna be like "we really waited this long for this?" or even worse - no one, except for a few, is gonna care once they're out 3

Getting music on a semi-regular basis is the best thing that can happen to you. And I know what i'm talking about because I stan Rihanna. 1

Fans like you are the worst examples......Do you think anyone of beyonce peers has the passion and drive to deliver a masterpiece like COWBOY CARTER? You don't think it takes insane passion, intention and work ethic to make and produce that album? So because she isn't a "POP STAR" like you want her to be, she should quit and go sit in a corner? Please go stan taylor swift and the other "POP STARS" who do the POP STAR things you want beyonce to do. As long as she continues to make (which she will) brilliant projects like CC, or Renaissance, she can do that till she is 80 years old or whenever she wants to. She works on her own terms and does what makes her happy....you don't like it, go focus on someone else. 2

And what is the POINT OF releasing the best work of your career if NO ONE HEARS IT. SHe started a massive conversation and that is appreciated, we've already seen the people associated with the album have some incredible life changing success and exposure. Names have entered our psyche and Shaboozi's solo song is about to go top 5 on Hot 100 next week. That is amazing, but this music, like formation, is the most impressive in her discog and she once again is going to ignore it and treat is secondary to things like Cecred and Ivy Park.

I agree completely, but honestly, its been like that since Lemonade to an extent. Its just that we've been constantly living in HOPE that something would eventually happen, but reality has set in now. We get an album and a lead, and after the drop of the album, the era is done. Thats our reality. 1

Beyoncé drops music, we discuss for 2 weeks and in that sense, we're back in the trenches. We need to "face the music"
Fleahive Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I'd much rather conspire about what celebs secretly hate Beyoncé vs dreadful retirement talk and ass kissing positive hive trying to validate her album abandoment. 2

Kristie Kuwa Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) I mean truth be told: Bey is doing EXACTLY what she set out to do and wants to do - to use her platform and status as a means of service. She wants to push conversations (which she successfully does with each release), she wants to broaden the concept of what a popstar can do (which she successfully does) and she wants to erase stigma and institutionalized racism towards black musicians (which she successfully does). I am 100% convinced that Bey is smiling from one ear to the ear seeing Shaboozeys rise. That must feel so incredibly validating to her, so much more validating than her own success because it means she serves as a catalyst of change. To put it bluntly: Taylor can sell millions and generate billions of streams which are all incredible individual feats to her career, but when Beyonce becomes the reason Black Country artists are seeing huge success in a white-dominated genre that has been gatekeeping black musicians, that literally trumps all of Taylor's achievements. THAT is legacy. Edited April 27 by Kristie Kuwa 7 2 1
