How can u look at these new pics and not adore the platinum look? Yes, its not as glam/beauty as the brown hair from RWT, but she oozes star appeal to the max

I love how you're willing to die on this hill :dies:

I agree though, I love the platinum. it just needs some more zhuzhing up, so it can be hit or miss. looks luscious, moisturized, soft and voluminous here.

It's funny how we all just moved on from the fact that we don't have the correct copy. What a mess.

The way Prince looked at him at 0:45 :deadbanana4: he knew damn well Bey should have been up there

People laughed, but Kanye West is probably single handedly the biggest reason Bey wont and hasnt won AOTY. That VMA stunt he pulled for those old enough to remember really soured not only him, but Beyonce to a lot of people. Sure they hide it, but the disdain is there and after he went up on that stage and made 17 year old Taylor Swift cry winning her first VMA and dragged Beyonce into it, the floodgates opened. That was the moment Taylor instantly flew to the moon and Beyonce would forever have to answer for Kanyes antics.

When people go into voting rooms they remember that kind of stuff and then he did it again in this video as a joke, but that **** is not funny, I bet Becks heart was racing hard af thinking Kanye was about to ruin his moment and I'm sure Bey/Jay were FURIOUS about it too. There is a narrative now that makes her seem entitled that Jay just helped KEEP ALIVE and push over the edge with his little speech last year. I really dont see her even being voted AOTY winner in her 40s or 50s, hers will be a late game one like when she is in her 60s with new generation voters.

yeah i don't see why some people would think what jay said at the grammies did anything other than guarantee she's absolutely never winning that award :rip: to most people (and voters) this was just a "she sent her husband to threaten people to vote for her" thing and will drive them to give her even less votes…

and i really hope hive (AND bey) stop caring about this meaningless aoty **** cause getting the same award that one of the most uninteresting artists in human history got 4 times before you would just be a sad slap in the face at this point…

I see what you all are saying however I don't agree. Like it or not the Grammys AOTY is the pinnacle for musicians. That's like saying actors should no longer want to get an Oscar. Even though they played Leo and Denzel in their faces, they still showed up. I do agree that at the end of the day whether she ever wins or not it won't take away from her talent.  It is crazy to think that TS has more than STEVIE WONDER. wow.

Bey came out of the VMAs night looking incredibly gracious and respectful. Even when it's discussed now most writers point out she gave up her moment to bring Taylor out later.

People have pushed the argument that Bey can't win AOTY because her lyrics are very explicit. But now everybody is saying Billie Eilish will win despite her album having lyrics like "I can eat that girl for lunch"

the inconsistency is laughable

I think the truth sits somewhere in the middle and kinda sorta more toward @sillycilla's point.

Yes, the reputation of the Grammys has been dented. From The Weeknd fiasco to internal dramas to race and genre politics, it's not as prestigious as it was.

The thing is, there isn't an equivalent show of equal prestige nor a show that carries the amount of history that Grammys factually has. That plus the fact that a lot of the top-tier acts still play ball with the show will ensure it stays "a thing" at least for the foreseeable.

Rather annoyingly, the Bey blow-back is always most intense the night of her snub and then it's kind of "business as usual" after that.

She has a LOT of power to stick her finger up by simply not submitting CC (a move that would truly shake the industry), but I get the sense she a) embraces the optics of being "most awarded" even though she's hip to the BS of the situation and b) The Carters are very "industry", thus will sooner keep turning up (though with less presence on the broadcast aka no performances) until she wins rather than ditching the show outright. On the surface, it's kinda odd. But when remembering that the Grammy committee and execs are made up other industry folk at large (producers, writers, DSPs, journalists etc), one can see why Bey and Jay wanna stay in the mix (for their broader interests/activities/labels).

The reason is not Kanye. The reason is not Jay. The reason is not that she did not promote during voting period.

The AOTY problem is not a Beyoncé problem, it's a very visible racism problem. Not submitting Cowboy Carter won't shake the industry at all, just will make her look ungrateful since she's the most awarded artist in Grammy history.

Yes she did, but as you can see here on this very forum, people hold that sort of hate in to save face. The white people in that room were pissed, best believe.

I just remembered how she uploaded Formation for the Grammys voters after ignoring our pleas for 10 months. I'm glad she lost now :fan:

People like to make it a black and white thing, and to a certain degree it is, but it's not all the problem is. There are many Black Grammy voters — I think Whoopi is one of them — who say things like, "She has 30+ Grammys. Why isn't that enough?" There are also Black artists that vote against her out of spite, especially ones that were once big and are now forgotten, or those who have beef with Jay-Z. Beyoncé is excellent in everything she does and that means people, including her own, are threatened. It's a mess.
