Kristie Kuwa Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Not the 31 songs. Oh I just KNOW Ms Thang saw CC and spontaneously decided to add more songs to that album in order to maximized her first week revenue. 1 2
Crayzik Posted April 19 Posted April 19 So i guess no one will complain about CC length from now on uh ? 1 2 8

Oh I just KNOW Ms Thang saw CC and spontaneously decided to add more songs to that album in order to maximized her first week revenue. I am so indifferent to TS and actively dislike the cult-like hype around her (it's factually is unwarranted), but I will always give credit where due… That lil "surprise" is the ish I love! The album itself ain't for me, but I love innovative marketing and disruption. The reality is that the girl probably just wants to run her numbers up, but the "story"around the move and the perceived ballsiness is the real marketing masterstroke. Bey has shown she's not above "playing the game" because I don't think it was ever on her bingo card or ours for her to ever drop a 27 track album. And yet CC exists. TS, to me, does not compare on any major metric when it comes to Bey. But I'll just say that I am interested to see how Bey continues to push her own envelope and "the" general envelope moving forward. Especially being modern music's original disrupter. 1

I still can't get over her vocals sounding extremely processed. It really feels like they sped up her vocal. A choice… Thank you! Beyond the cover element, it's literally one of the best songs on the album and encapsulates what the project at large is about: storytelling, spark, and Country…but on Beyonce terms. The lyric flip is so c*nt and is genius (Bey, as a career long feminist, was never gonna "beg" a woman to not take her man). The new outro with the male voice interpolation is just…bliss. I suspect, from a stan perspective, it's suffering from what Texas and 16 Carriages are suffering from: people will always be more enamoured with totally new material rather anything they've heard before the album dropped. It's telling that the GP clearly rock with it and it would be an immediate smash if pushed. The Hive will inevitably jump on board if it does get a push too.
Kristie Kuwa Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I listened to THAT album and my God, the Lana and Lorde rejects are crazy to me tbh. How can it be so celebrated when its just a rehash of a sound over and over again 1 2
Kristie Kuwa Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Listening to Cowboy Carter AFTER Taylor's album makes it sound so much richer, so much more thoughtful, so much more powerful. Phew, they never see Bey in terms of quality, no matter the gazillion streams 1

Phew, they never see Bey in terms of quality, no matter the gazillion streams Spoiler Someone in that album thread just said that that album is made for "intelligent people" and yet there is that 13-page thread from list night when most of the people agreed that her music is appealing because it's basic and doesn't require much thought. If it were for intelligent people only, there's no way it would sell as much as it will sell. Truly the McDonalds of music. Beyoncé, you will never be appreciated enough, and that's fine. You know you're that girl. Quote All the same to me, Plain Jane, spaghetti No sauce, no sauce (No), too soft, too soft (Uh) 3
Shelter Posted April 19 Posted April 19 31 songs, so bloated and unnecessary. She should've released 2 separate albums.
BnPac Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Let's keep the base Beyoncé-related only. Plus it attracts weird members. 6 3
Jon Snow Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Spoiler I know it was wrong for Beyoncé to scam people into buying an "unfinished" album, but the only crime she did was false advertising. I'm so glad that she doesn't release five different versions of the album. She still keeps her artistic vision and is not doing different versions just for the profit. It just happened that she changed some things on the album. It evolved. If she ever did it intentionally from the beginning, I might not wanna support that. 1

Testosterone Posted April 19 Posted April 19 If Taylor wins AOTY over CC, then I don't even know anymore. 1

I appreciate her trying to do something different, but she should've done 9-5 or another Dolly song instead. If I said this I'd 10 downvotes and called a secret hater.

Fleahive Posted April 19 Posted April 19 (edited) Keep an eye on post malones social media. When he posts about his feature I'm curious to see the different tone in his comments section. His Beyoncé post was literal hell in the comments. I already know what to expect but I just need further proof so I can make a thread exposing the obvious RACISM. Yes RACISM. The way Beyoncés talent is always picked apart immediately. But that lady will always get a backhanded compliment at worst saying she's not their favorite but they respect her. I don't give a **** I wish Jay Z named NAMES at the Grammys. These NON BLACK (Not just white) folks are so hypocritical. And it's not just politics that make people hate Beyoncé because it's clear Taylor is a democrat/left leaning celebrity it's no secret. It's no secret she's a feminist. She has said all the same messages Beyoncé has except for black liberation. That's why they hate Beyoncé. They're racist. They know she has power to start conversation that they don't want to have. They're racist. They're racist. Edited April 19 by Fleahive

Comedor Posted April 19 Posted April 19 And once again we are reminded of how incredible Beyonce is. Keep this in mind before you drag her for not releasing what you want when you want. WASPS. 1

CécredSpaces Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I made it to track 13 before I gave up on blondie's new album. The flavor is non-existent. Even on track 2, I was already rolling my eyes because it reminded me of a song of hers from her last album. I'm so happy I stan Beyoncé. Even her blandest album, I Am..., isn't as bad as this.
ScorpiosGroove Posted April 19 Posted April 19 why is bey the only one without an instant dolby atmos version upon release ? everything always takes so unnecessarily long when it comes to her
