That's the thing, when Twitter is right it always tends to be some obscure niche page that doesn't seem to be courting stans. The issue now is this plethora of "insider" accounts tweeting nothing but fan fiction that have tens of thousands of followers and dizzy stans going back there over and over despite next to nothing ever coming to fruition lol. I find it so weird. Both the fact that there are really people sitting behind these accounts spending their day making up "tea" AND the fact that people actually believe it lol. 1
satellites.™ Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Actually, though, they may not have been together for four years. They may have been together longer, because, in a refreshing change of pace from today's blabbermouth celebrities, they do not publicly discuss their relationship. Here's what you have never seen with these two: A reality show where they eat with their hands and discuss bodily functions. Beyoncé kissing Madonna on TV. Beyoncé throwing plates in a hotel in the midst of a drunken crack-up, or having a drunken crack-up. Beyoncé racing into her boyfriend's arms as he's released from jail, or having a boyfriend in jail. Beyoncé and Jay-Z fleeing the police after a shoot-out in a nightclub. There are no drug rumors. No quickie Las Vegas marriage or annulment. No PIMPS UP, HO'S DOWN jackets worn at a wedding-rehearsal dinner. No jumping on sofas during Oprah. Beyoncé—she of the "bootylicious," sexy dances—still manages to wear her success well while maintaining a sense of decorum in a world gone absolutely mad. Beyoncé Knowles is very much a lady. And when was the last time anyone used that word to describe a superstar? See!!!! This is all the way back in 2005. 1

Space&Time Posted March 25 Posted March 25 If only half of the people who have danced to this song streamed the album upon release, Bey would be platinum the first week.

The jokes truly write themselves 2

I remember after a year or two, they set up a make-a-donation function asking members to donate, I don't think it was successful. They were two regular Hive members giving their money and time for it. 2

From the outside looking in, the forums disappearing felt so random and unnecessary. And hella premature too. Total conjecture, but I kinda get the sense that some of the people working the forums didn't really know how to navigate the advent of social media. Because forums, by comparison, essentially felt like an extra step to access discourse and debate that was already taking place on the social media channels you're already on (Twitter, FB, etc at the time). IIRC the forums (or at least one of em) started toggling between viewable for all and only viewable for members. Then there was a lot of gatekeeping around tea spilling onto social media (see above), insiders departing etc. For some reason, I think I also recall some of 'the mods moaning about the costs of keeping the forum up. The bigger the forum, the bigger the cost of running it. And I don't remember there being ads (ala what keeps ATRL and similar going). Also, platforms like ATRL, LSA, PJ etc can always thrive because they centralize all the stan bases and are kinda driven by broad, wide-ranging discourse as well as more nuanced stan debates (Base threads). Overal, though, it's a shame because I really think BeyHive Board in particular had the potential to be a mini-ATRL. I really miss BeyHive it was such a great site to be on! Especially during ST era 1

Space&Time Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I appreciated the tea that came from the Beyhive board, however, those admins acted real weird. The power dynamics and group think on that board was a turnoff. Also, I don't know if the tea that they provided us ever really served us. I found it better to just be surprised. 1

It's an app where oldies go to shout at the sky and Beyonce is a part of that sky There was some memory lane rumblings on the TL on Twitter and it completely slipped my mind that Bey was not only in the top 5 for female monthly isteners back then but #9 overall in December 2017
satellites.™ Posted March 25 Posted March 25 BeyonceWorld forum during the end of Bday into IASF was the EVENT, sorry if you missed it lol. It's where most of us met and migrated here in 2009 to drag Britney/Rihanna/Ciara stans What a time to be a shitty teenager. 3
