i remember seeing her in Run The World (Girls) video for the first time. i knew about Beyonce before, but i knew nothing about her. the moment i saw that video something clicked inside me, it's like it was meant to be. i choose her to be my fave in that moment. i was still a child back then. i knew about Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Shakira, JLo, but i never payed attention to any of the pop girls back then. but the moment i saw that video, i entered the stan world and everything after that made sense

What is everyone's first memory of Beyoncé?

Mine is seeing the Baby Boy video. I remember just bring fascinated by it and I knew she was a star right then. I would have been about 8 years old at the time.

Bey as a solo artist probably CIL's music video on MTV, but my babysitter was a diehard DC fan. She just recently became a grandmother ☠️

Honestly, I do expect this to be the least successful era due to the lack of promo, but I bet the music is gonna EAT.

I'm conflicted because I could see it being pretty big just off the fact that country music just has more mainstream appeal than for the sake of an example house/dance music especially in the US. Texas being bigger than BMS is the receipt for that.

Also country music is having a major resurgence at the moment so her putting this out is literally perfect timing. Like she was definitely ahead of the curve with this.

Everything kinda perfectly lined up for CC to be a success even if she does her usual hands off approach with promo.

Mine is the Baby Boy video as well but the first time I was fully blown away by Beyoncé and remember it was when I was 9 watching her perform Sweet Dreams at the EMAs since those were the only awards my European self could watch on TV back then before bedtime

I think I was 7/8 when I first heard Destiny's Child song Independent Woman Pt2. on a NOW Thats what I call music CD that my step-dad owned.....chile I would always take it out his CD rack and play it when I was dropped from school early and would be home alone! I love DC's sound to this day. They made some great songs.

For me it was Survivor when that was at it's peak! We had a 'video hits' show that ran in Australia (kinda like MTV) and the video clip was getting played so often. I would have been about 5 years old and I remember thinking the music video was EVERYTHING and I was obsessed with the choreo and wanted to look like DC. Of course, I grew up listening to Bey after that, I strongly remember how huge CIL was, it was always played at birthday parties and such. I also remember Irreplaceable being MASSIVE. 'To the left, to the left' almost had it's own viral moment before social media was really a thing.

I bet certain right leaning publications and reviewers in the country field are just salivating at the thought of ripping into her. I remember the outrage from the hive with that redundant Renaissance review but I think this will only be worse. Y'all softer hive better brace yourself for the metacritic thread. :fan:

My aunt would play TWOTW and I fell in love with Bills Bills Bills. I bought a bootleg of the Survivor cd at a gas station when I was like 11 years old. That image was so striking to me, she is a goddess, I was drawn in and obsessed ever since. Bey used to always do these STRIKING fierce faces on the early album covers that just punched me in my guts.

I re-read my post and it does read like that. Definitely not my intention. More so coming to terms with the fact I won't be reading any reviews or threads like that until I have fully formed my own opinion on the album. People tried it with the Ren leaks and I'm glad I read those posts in hindsight, not as it unfolded because look where we are now. Her best work to date.

Mine was Lose My Breathe video. I would keep watching it on MTV and be gagged each time. Then I discovered Naughty Girl and immediately purchased DIL album and got into her and DC :jonnycat:

I love how Bey told Meg to make her verse cleaner even though Bey gets filthy in her own songs all the time. :deadbanana:

I love their relationship tho. I really do hope Meg is one of the features on CC.
