HELLO! A QUESTION!!!!!

What are some writers out there who have written about Beyoncé's style before that you like?
Or writers about style that would write well about her?

Listened to Arianas new album (C+), Halles new single today (cute, but Girl. . .), Cardis 2 new songs (stay in the studio, fav) and Tamars new single (get a real damn producer, a real damn label or go back into retirement) and. . .we be on Beyonce axx, but she definitely puts out quality, cohesive, timeless, genre bending music and structures her album/tour/visuals/Public appearance to coordinate within an era so seamlessly. Parkwood may skip or look over a million steps, but they definitely know how to string an era together. We all have our favs, our second best and those we've excepted for what they can manage to bring to the table, but Bey is not a fav for me. She is one of the few artist I consider 'the standard'

Ari’s was a C for me upon first listening, but going back and listening from a more understanding position of what Ari was trying to get across from an artist pov, while also asking my Trans sibling why they connected with the album and “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” specifically, made me absolutely fall in love with it! :weeps: Ari’s miiind! :weeps:

It’s funny because so many artists are releasing/have already released this year and so far nothing has stuck out to me. Definitely no shortage of quantity of new music around but the quality just isn’t there. I’m waiting for 3.29 for Bey to come and save it. I have no doubt that this will be the best album of 2024.

The thought of violins, horns, choirs & bass being VERY prominent in Cowboy Carter's has me foaming at the mouth :jonny5:

While I agree, Bey is not the Standard for me - shes the goal of what every artist should strive to be.

Bey is the reason I go extra hard on these girlies, why I stanned Duas Future Nostalgia (a perfect Pop era) any why im criticizing her new era, why I drag a lot of Pop Songs because they sound empty after 10-20 listens (yes Ari, im looking at you)

Kacey gave me cozy, soothing country vibes with her album which means Bey will come through with CUNTry (+ emotional moments like 16C) :jonny3:

I love Beyonce because she embodies Superstar but also has talent and is always looking to try new things and be experimental. A lot of People in Our Community want to keep Bey in the R&B Lane but I'm glad she is doing different genres

Lets take a minute to praise our fave for being eight albums in and NO two albums sound alike. Each album has it's own sound/theme. Probably the only MPG that can say that.

Aww maybe Bey gave us that half assed album announcement on IG Stories just for us since we’ve been complaining?

Today, Beyoncé celebrates a full month at Number 1 in the UK with TEXAS HOLD ‘EM, marking a new personal best for the superstar in the process.

Quote

The sixth UK Number 1 single, lifted from her newly-announced upcoming album COWBOY CARTER, is now her longest-running chart-topper on the Official Singles Chart; besting the previous three-week peaks of 2003’s Crazy In Love with Jay-Z and 2007’s Beautiful Liar with Shakira.

It also blows past the two Number 1 singles Beyoncé achieved as a member of Destiny’s Child; with 2000’s Independent Women and 2001’s Survivor both spending one week at the top of the chart. Thus, Beyoncé’s turn to country has dug up gold, gifting her the longest stretch at Number 1 of her entire career.

I roll my eyes so hard when I read these comments on IG, “I liked the old Beyoncé” and the like. It’s usually based on their perception of her from when she was young to now. (She never smiles now, she looks sad, she’s changed etc). She would’ve never been able to spread her wings and have the nerve to take such heavy swings if she listened to them and played it safe and stayed being a Pageant queen.

And I love how it has paid off everytime. Each album causes such a stir now because we always wonder what she will do next.

Y’all I think I’m finally getting it. Beyoncé doesn’t want to be just a legend. She wants to be the SYMBOL for music. Her doing AALLL of these genres, these mastermind bodies of work, completely changing the way millions of people consume music and using SO MUCH HISTORY and symbology in her music. This lady doesn’t wanna just be a legend, she wants to be the RUSHMORE of Music and girl I’m finally getting it now!!! :weeps:

I think this is why soooo many people simply just DO. NOT. GET. HER. YET. She’s operating on some other frequency rn chile and I’m LOVINGGG ITTT!!! :jonny4:

I truly don’t think it’s a bad title. The reactions to it were sooo extra imo:deadbanana4: I think a lot of the titles that were thrown around like Enlightenment or Rodeo would’ve been lame. At least this is unique and memorable.

The whole discourse about involving the name Carter in the title was so gross imo. That’s her name and it’s simply that. Get tf over it.  I would’ve thought her naming a whole ass tour Mrs. Carter would’ve given the hint. Smh
