She might be onto something with the Texas and 16 Carriages lyric videos! The broad range she’s about to show us AGAIN with this album:jonny5:

Can't lie I'm starting to lose interest in the era. I've overplayed T'HE and 16 Carriages that I need to take a break and there's no music video or live performances to keep my interest. Also, I'm not a huge fan of country music anyway so she's going to need to put in a little extra effort to keep me engaged. I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling this way  :doc:

I’m only buying one more… which color vinyl should I get? I already have the superior black one. :giraffe:

16 Carriages still has me in a chokehold but I did lose interest in TX to some extent. I'm back to streaming MY HOUSE more.

I just need to hold on for two weeks. I just need her to gag me one more time before the album drops.

I felt the same way, but ever since the presale, I feel like it really hit me a new era is here. We are still getting the album cover and tracklist before the album drop, maybe even who worked on the songs.. within the span of the next 2 weeks. "Excited" is an understatement at this point

I have been listening to THE and even 16C a lot less because I want them to remain a bit fresh to my ears when the full album drops.

I remember doing this to BMS as well.

I normally hate lead singles by the time the album is released.

Since Deja Vu underperformed, what should have been the 1st single from Bday for a different result?

Upgrade U should've led if she didn't plan on going with Irreplaceable, which wouldve been perfect as a lead.

This reminds me of what was said (I think Tina said it? Or perhaps Beyoncé said it herself but that seems less likely) about how much research Beyoncé did for Black is King (when people were calling her out for stealing culture or whatever). And I love to know that clearly, Beyoncé isn't just picking genres to do, she's fully diving into the history and more-or-less forgotten parts of what went into the development of the music she's referencing. TBH I wouldn't be surprised if there were a research team at Parkwood (similar to how authors often have teams of researcher to assist their work when discussing history) tasked with finding all these interesting pieces of history for her to reference and expand upon in her intentions. Or, History Detective Beyoncé is just on the case herself.

In comparison to Deja Vu's top 5 finish, "Freakum Dress" has always sounded like the perfect lead: high-octane, drama-filled, a massive bridge, and solo. It also didn't have a Jay-Z feature which is a plus, but the heavy trumpets may have sounded too much like "Crazy In Love" for some critics.

Yes I agree, and if not that, then Freakum Dress, which imo would have fit very nicely into the sound and subject matter of the time, when hits like SexxyBack and London Bridge (both kinda sassy songs about sex) were some of the most visible hits of the late summer/early fall.

I hope she samples Texas' own Selena Q. Not only was she the bridge between American-influenced popular music and Tejano music, but underlines the respect B has for Selena. Didn't they meet when B was a child at the Houston Galleria shopping mall?

the only thing I HATE about this photo is the way I can see the mediocre editing job they did to make her nails seem freshly done... we saw at the Grammys and other photos she posted that the nails were grown out, at least 10 days. I guess because this one is a close up, they went ahead and digitally filled them in :deadbanana2:

but otherwise I love this photo. when someone said it's better than some other girls' album covers, I really saw the vision for this era.

This just reminded me to create my Act 1-3 playlist and I'm gagged already :jonny: I included the Cowboy Carter singles obviously, Act 1, plus all the bonus stuff we got during the first era. She kept us FED during the house era. :jonny:

But really how will she top Act 1 RENAISSANCE??? I think it is impossible for me and the first Act will remain the best one.
