But I just saw Chlöe released something, maybe that explains why we have nothing.

I hear you, but this is the same Bey who doesn't mind her mag covers dropping the same day as her sister's. The same Bey who (most likely unintended) tends to have ish out when her band members drop something. It kind of is what it is.

She's running a business and, much like a major label, ought to get used to having many things pushed in the marketplace at the same time. Plus, Chloe's release feels kinda lo-fi, rather than an all-out launch with Have Mercy, for example.

Mindblown that we still don't have the preorder yet.

For some reason, as much as today makes sense and is already overdue, Sunday/Monday fits the news cycle best.

Sunday = covered everywhere Monday

Monday = covered everywhere immediately and can be a dominant story all week

Whatever the case is, we're way overdue and it's getting on my nerves!

Makes sense...

That’s not completely true. I don’t see why people say that. There are a lot of impulse buying that happen when a song is being talked about, is smashing or people discover the single and like it.
The 190k copies she sold for Ren were not all stans. Just like an artists selling 1M pure can’t be all from stans no matter how many variants. Some general music fans who love physical albums are interested and buy the music they love.

Plus they’re some fans who also buy on impulse. Anyway it doesn’t really matter, she’ll drop when she wants or will not. Fans were quite sure it will happen the 29th or today but maybe they have other plans.

Not tryna ruffle any feather, but I didn’t say it was from stans. I said it was from fans and their fanbase. Most casual listeners will always stream and if it’s not on there, they just won’t stream the song or continue to listen illegally. A successful song does not mean more people will buy your physical album, that’s a step towards building a solid fanbase who will invest in you and buy tickets and physical albums.

It’s nothing about impulse buying, it’s just more about physical sales are usually frontloaded cause they are bought majorly by fans and the artists fanbase once they are announced. The GP that need a physical copy and love them are quite small these days. I want the announcement too but realistically on today’s standards, a month pre-order time is a good time to announce because of the above.

No problem I did understand, I said stans up but fans in the last paragraph.

Spoiler

Because I am not sure how you define on how you define fans, a music lover or a GP person who who loves Beyoncé’s music even casually is what I consider a fan

Chloe and Halle's release schedules have nothing to do with Bey's. I'm pretty sure Bey dropped BMS or Renaissance the same weekend Chloe released a single.

Idk why some of you are twisting yourself into knots over preorders :deadbanana2: Have we not learned by now it's her career and trying to make sense of her decisions is futile?

Maybe just maybe something is coming today,

CR Fashion Book is hyping whatever they have coming (about 40mins from now). I can't see Bey posting any more from the shoot (kinda how Essence was an all-at-once dump).

Her announcing something at the same time creates a nice swirl of buzz that feeds into and mutually both reveals.

We'll see.

There'll be no pre-orders. She's reinventing the album rollout once again. Or something.

Hey, sure. That’s true. She also released around Usher’s SB. I just saw Chlöe’s and thought it might better Bey gives us details another day.

Não haverá pré-encomendas. Ela está reinventando o lançamento do álbum mais uma vez. Ou alguma coisa.

It's less so knots, it just doesn't feel...smart. Nor does it feel commercially optimal on her part.

Having followed pretty much every era of hers, including this anti-Pop star flex she's been on for the last decade, it's not lost on me that there is a definite on/off season with Bey and the handling of her music career specifically. It's definitely intentional and loosely translates to Solo Era / Primetime Bey ("on") and Side Project / Collabs Bey ("off").

Put simply, she typically doesn't fumble her main solo eras. They (Columbia/Parkwood etc) do the "things" needed to establish at the very least this base level of success:

* A hit single

* High first-week album sales <<< most

* Platinum Status

Bey is not a Taylor or an Ari with a cultish fanbase who will buy a bundle with the air they breath. Nor is the Hive (much as Iove us) the largest audience (we grown now and are much more likely to show up at a tour). Put simply, to remain commercially viable sales-wise, she actually needs:

* Stan purchases

* those who will auto-buy because of FOMO

* GP

* A lengthy window to grab all of the above.

For seemingly no justifiable reason, they aren't seizing the moment properly. And it's jarring. Pls do not think the success of Texas automatically = album sales.

Bey has a big base, but she's peddling something extremely left of her established audience and a big GP hit doesn't necessarily translate into album sales. Just ask Miley with Flowers and whatever its attached album was.

And some of us may sound/look like we're doing the most, but I can promise you that the Base will meltdown to the ground if she comes in with 150k and THEN all will start complaining about everything she "should" have done.

I'm Hive and can still admit that she **needs** to **keep** playing the game to elongate her reign. She needs the preorder windows, she needs the vinyl, the bundles, the boxes, etc to keep the competition. Cus that whole "slaying for 27 years" ish the stans lap up doesn't just happen nor sustain itself, it's something she has to keep watering constantly.

Edit: I do agree, though, that ULTIMATELY, we can't care more about her ish than she does. So, for as much as I've written, if she doesn't mind doing 150k (which I will never believe true), then I won't lose sleep over it one way or the other lol. I think I have always (and continue) to assess Bey as a "brand" and to a degree "product", so my mind will always be wired around how to keep that product fresh and flying off the shelves.
