I can see her legacy years bringing with it a more promo-friendly approach (as she likely won't be basking in the "it girl-ness" of now where mystery is the new "promo").

idk if anything I can see her taking a more Kate Bush route when she’s older and basically vanishing for years at a time, communicating through letters :toofunny2:

like obviously she’s more than earned her peace and privacy, it’s just difficult as a fan

Live on stage? Probably at the Grammys 2017.

Did we really have to wait 2 days before the show to finally know the truth??

It feels like they dangled that thing in front of us for weeks just so people would talk about the Grammy.

Why was there no 'this is categorically false' until now?

ugh...

Before having it confirmed-confirmed, I genuinely got a hunch she wouldn't be doing anything for Tina on any kind of special (for another platform) after making her tribute a focus of her own show from the time of Tina's passing through to the last RWT show.

Cementing that performance once again as part of her tour doc...which she is commercializing on her own terms...pretty much nipped the notion or need for another tribute in the bud IMO.

A Pre-ST Bey probably would have done it all.

But she's pretty aggressively premium-izing her presence.

The mature, business-minded part of my mind commends it. The stan in me feels like we're getting less and less.

How long do yall think until the Renaissance film is on streaming?

I really feel an announcement of some sort is imminent. Maybe commercial at the Grammys or Super Bowl>

Using the Taylor model as a reference (and pretty much most of Bey's rollout was similar/the same), they definitely do a fresh press push for VOD release.

And with Bey's film officially out of theaters, now is the time to strike.

I'd personally love to see Bey depart from the Taylor model and do something a little left to put the doc in front of more people. Netflix IMO feels like the move.

TS, doing the numbers she did, can afford to continue to be aggressive by making it a standard VOD release (available everywhere). While Bey, IMO, could and would benefit hugely from the marketing muscle of a Netflix, Prime or whoever who would make sure it's pushed-pushed if they have it as an exclusive.

I really don't think there was ever the intention to address it.

In fairness to Team Bey, a Grammy exec went on record yesterday using the "we've been in discussions" thing likely to fuel people to watch. So the denial is probably a definitive way to extinguish that.

They (the Grammys) do it with Bey all the time. E.g. like that year a potential Savage performance with Meg was teased as "being in negotiations". Team Bey didn't deny it, but as we saw it didn't happen. Pretty sure that was the year she broke some kind of record. So it was a win-win. Bey is roped into "appearing" on the show and has a "moment" all while not performing (which we know she wasn't ready for nor interested in) and the Grammys still get to capitalize off their teased "performance" in the way that feels like a fair payoff for the audience. Everyone's... "happy".

This year, though, with no nomination and in the wake of yet another AOTY snub, I actually get the sense that the denial is on purpose to stop them using her name for viewership. Especially for a show she gains nothing from.

Crazy.... if there is one thing we could have expected, it was her to perform a tribute to Tina Turner...

I feel like she doesn't want the whole Jay-Z verse to be brought up. Sis doesn't speak but she lurks in social media so she sees these things. She doesn't want op-eds to be made about her and damage her brand; but if the "Anna Mae eat the cake" thing didn't exist, you know Bey would jump on this chance the moment she finds out about it. She loves Tina.

Ngl I don’t think she cares. I don’t even think the public cares.

She and Tina obviously had love for each other. I think she just doesn’t think she owes the Grammys anything :rip:

it’s not crazy to me when you think about it. Sis has given the Grammys many things and on several occasions they have played in her face. Beyonce probably sees it as ‘I did a tribute at my concert and in the concert film. you can watch it there on my terms instead of on the music politicians time.’

plus if her Grammy dress was gonna be anything like last years, it’s better that she doesn’t come at all. :cm:

I think it's having the opposite effect if streaming services aren't buying her visuals

What are we gonna do if she doesn't perform Crazy In Love on her next tour??

I know some may be tired of it but I genuinely think it's my favorite song of all time and I'll never get over it

I was about to once again say that Crazy in Love can take a break but we had an earthquake mid-message so i think that’s a sign

No Rocnation brunch. No Tina tribute. We dont even know if she will appear at Clive Davis's event. Safe to say Beyoncé is finally removing herself from the Grammy awards. Good. It was time.

As much as I hate where she's at as a fan hungry for more of her, she's living the dream. Never needs to do anything again in her life she doesn't wanna do, access to literally ANYTHING she wants, revered above everyone else in her industry (even the biggest pop star in the world sings her praises)

It makes sense why she is the way she is now. Why put yourself out there for literally no real gains?
