I mean.. 'you are the visuals baby' being in the movie and on t-shirts is pretty telling.

:clown:

Disrespectful and in poor taste, but pretty telling.

It feels like I'm being ghosted. :biblio: I'm in a toxic relationship with Bey.

Soon she'll gaslight me saying 'I've never really said there would be any music video, did I?'.

I need the live album so I can shut my mouth for a little while. :allears:

I think the 22nd would be a great date to release a live album. The film will already have premiered everywhere, it could be kind of a Christmas gift and sales will be low for other albums.

so after attending the paris premiere, one thing about french hive we WILL show up & show out for mother, that’s why we’re the only ones she reposted in her story, not everybody has that

anyway, i’ve never seen so many people in a theater, the queue alone was so long and so many hot, well dressed people in there whew. i kinda hated everyone standing up every time a new song came on, like this isn’t a pilates course but it did add a lot energy wise so i didn’t mind it much after all. it was really amazing (the sound could’ve been louder tho cause there were times where i heard the audience more than Bey nnn)

she really picked out the best moment, every little detail was carefully chosen and it was masterfully done fr. i expected way too many cuts, transitions and filters but it was just done so well, she really stepped it up bad. her best concert, tour and film all in one, hands down. like I’m sorry Homecoming but you’re kinda dogshit compared to this :santa:

the energy when everyone danced and sang during the ITG/Cozy/AS section was just off the charts like WOW. everyone cheered for Blue & Rumi and all the funny things they/Bey said or did. When Jay came on everybody boo’d him, twice (as they should). when Yvette came on there were light boo’s coupled with confused silence, people really do NOT know that woman

now on to some nitpicking : i couldn’t focus on the mixing/production bc the girls were LOUD but i’m sure they put the horns all the way in the back during the second cozy chorus, aka you barely hear them which is kinda electric chair worthy cause it’s literally THE best thing about cozy’s live arrangement ??

same for the horns at the end of BMS, you barely hear them… I hope that won’t be the case in the live album cause if there’s one thing Bey really knows how to do it’s including horns in her live recordings. like that’s really her thing and her thing only.
I also kinda hated how they changed AHAP’s structure to include Kendrick, it doesn’t work for me but whatever, i’m glad they included his verse nonetheless. at least she kept the CIL F5 thank god.

now i really don’t wanna complain cause we see and hear so little of her bts these days that it’s a blessing to see stuff like her recording Heated’s outro while lying on a coach (kiii), the scrapped stage concepts (so many thoughts on those alone like omg), her eating fastfood like a normal human etc, like all of it was amazing to see

BUT, in the context of the movie/era/tour, i feel like a lot of the documentary footage was kinda useless or at least a bit redundant (as a stan at least, i guess for casual fans it was more than enough). like @Shone Ai mentioned, were was the explanation for the concept ? why the futuristic robot aesthetic ? why was the setlist the way it was ? why was there no footage of her and Des explaining the final stage ? why did they work 4 years on this and how did it all come together ? i expected more in depth explanations about that part, not her thanking a bunch of people we all know inspired and opened the doors for her, but oh well.

all in all the film’s a masterpiece, easily her best ever and i’m more than happy we finally got a tour film and a (hopefully) future live album :gayriahcat3:

I loved the film. I think she captured the tour perfectly, the atmosphere of how it felt to be there really comes across and the documentary elements were great too. I think I may have spotted myself in the footage too.

I hope that we have the live album before Christmas or at the very least before the years out.  It would be a great idea to add some new remixes too - the two I have in mind are Cuff It (Kaytranada Remix) and Alien Superstar (Honey Dijon Remix) which both have been playing out live.

Wishful thinking but I'd love a Renaissance (act I) boxset - the original album, remixes, live album (CD and vinyl), DVD and/or bluray of the live show.

The visuals hmmm - I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly get released.

I really do not understand why we can't have the visuals.

i honestly don’t think she’s scrapping the visuals. she said we’re going to take our time with the music. i think it’s more important for us to show us the work that went into this tour, the story behind the music, and the impact that the tour has had with the fans.

the visuals have been the main driving force behind ST, and lemonade. if anything, the film has made me realise that she wants to save the visuals til last to have people focus on the body of work itself. the visuals are the afterthought.

Yeah, this movie was the closure for me regarding the visuals.

the fact that she knew to not even tease a moment of them in this...not even in the interludes... I think I did see a few of the ITG closeups at one point, but that being already released content it's not exactly what I'm talking about.

and yes I agree they seem so inconsequential to me now (though I was never really awaiting them too hard at any point) but for the first few weeks.

Was it just me or did those post-its on the dressing room mirror say something like NEW IDEA I'M NOT MAKING A MOVIE MY IDEAS WILL LIVE IN ME (or something like that)?

Wasn't that a reference to no visuals? For now at least?

The way we have nothing to look forward to now that the movie is out

find something more annoying than the “I don’t need visuals, I don’t care about them" club :date4:

I think she will release the live album the same day the film gets released on streaming services, similar to when Homecoming was released. It feels like a long era especially after the Lemonade Era

My issue is the same as it was on Day 1, WHY TEASE VISUALS IF THERE ARE NONE.

If THIS never happened, we wouldn't even be upset.

This is VERY annoying to me and its why I havent seen the doc yet, Im sick of giving money, lately she's giving money grab.

$30 movie? Girl plz.

NEW IDEA I'M NOT MAKING A MOVIE

IT'LL LIVE IN MY HEAD

If THIS - a split-second shot of a post-it note buried in the middle of a rambling monologue in her $30 movie - is how she lets her fanbase know that the visuals she teased 1.5 years ago and mentioned every night on tour are now scrapped and cancelled then she can get all the peace and stability she wants in the lowest depths of hell

It is annoying that she doesn't communicate with us often (I get that being elusive is part of her brand but it definitely wouldn't hurt her if she could answer our queries more).

Having said that, I'm okay with no music videos - the film features all the songs on the record and they come across so well live. Maybe she thought that the best way that she could communicate their visuals was through live performance.

Ultimately she doesn't owe anyone anything though it wouldn't hurt to tell us the update on the visuals!

Exactly. The biggest problem here is not that there are no visuals per se.

The problem is that there ARE visuals, she announced them, teased them with a whole ass video teaser, went MIA for almost a year about it, then mocked us about it every night on tour. It's just distasteful.

This is the worst scenario if you ask me 'cause it means she's creatively bankrupt :rip: She's done so much amazing visual work throughout her career, the thought of her not being able to get at least 2 videos worth showing to the public out of an entire film is terryfing. I'd much rather she wasn't able to sell it tbh :skull:

how could you watch the tour film and think she's creatively bankrupt? maybe the vision just didn't come out right, and instead of spending more time/money trying to make it perfect, she chose to focus on the tour instead. bey has already done 3 (4 including bday) visual albums. from a creative and strategic standpoint, its actually healthy to move on from that format. bey has said before she doesn't like to repeat herself too many times. the impact and success of her visual projects is evident due to how many people have copied them. she achieved what she wanted to in that area

I'm pretty sure the post-its referred to the tour movie.

"I'M NOT MAKING A FILM. IT'LL LIVE IN MY HEAD."

RENAISSANCE: A FILM BY BEYONCÉ

there's no reason to assume it's about the visuals.

Maybe it’s a reference to how we’re still watching the FWT DVD in our minds.
