And anyway, what other amazing ideas do people have to replace it? Just standard colour? 3D behind-the-scenes? Smell-o-vision so we can smell the parfum? I'm not sure why Beyoncé isn't allowed to have a style when it comes to how she directs her documentaries.

My genius idea is to leave the concert footage alone! Don’t touch it much Bey! Light handed direction and editing. Mix in some interviews, rehearsal and studio footage and boom golden product. Year of 4 is probably the best Beyoncé documentary to me.

I agree, but think it's too early to start complaining that it's not that. We have one trailer.

Anyways, it’s all a moot point now. She’s not going to change anything and hopefully she gets top 2 at the Box office. And at least does better than Katy Perry’s numbers.

A music video would be good promo, cough Alien Superstar cough… tease everyone with something.

Katy’s first day was like 3 million :deadbanana2:

It’s doing fine. Trailer should be on her TikTok, twitter and Facebook though. I don’t get why she agreed to let them open a TikTok for her and then not use it for the tour and this.

I really doubt she will do any promo or posts about it until the release day/week :bibliahh:

I like her narration :foxaylove2:

yes the ASMR voice and filters can be retired.

I meant overall gross lol

She’s definitely not going to do any promo. That’s clear. I am wondering if these numbers will help her in negotiations for streaming with the visuals? Idk

Bey fans don’t strike me as the type to rush to buy presale tickets. Just look at the way her tour tickets sold - with most selling closer to the show date. Give it some time and let’s see how it plays out.

What most intrigues me…Nia DiCosta is the first Black female director to debut a movie in the number 1 weekend spot with Candyman in 2021 - 20.4 M - The 2nd highest grossing opening weekend by a Black female director behind Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time - 33.1 M. Renaissance has historic potential to further cement Bey’s legacy in ways we’re not even considering, and it really doesn’t require that much from her to do so.

We’re also older with schedules that can change in two months time. It’ll sell fine just like how her “flop” shows have all sold out by showtime. :thing:

I wasn't a huge fan of LIBAD, but I did love the interview segments. Just have Ed Burke interview her or better yet just sit down and see where the conversation goes, then edit around that instead of recording into your phone while you're in bed.

I guess it's easier for her schedule to do it more on the fly whenever she feels like it.

Film Box office works different than tour sales. Pre sales are a good barometer of the anticipation of the film and how it will fare. I don’t think we can keep using age as an excuse.

But it’s presaling similar to marvel movies right? So I wouldn’t be this stressed tbh

Right but it’s a concert film not a marvel movie and won’t move big numbers on opening weekend. That’s why I said hopefully it will gross more than Katy perry and a top 2 debut. It’s a slow start.

Early estimates for “Renaissance” suggest a potential $20+ million opening which is more in-line with most concert movies including “Michael Jackson’s This Is It” ($23.2 million) and “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” ($29.5 million).”

one thing we NEED is the live audio (ie. vocals) for AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM.

Why hasn’t AMC released their numbers though? Even the deadline article says it’s an estimate for now. Could it be lower or higher?

I'd rather them lowball tbh. 30-40M is where I would put this at

I'm just so relieved that this is not Act II and we have that to look forward to.

I’m just now seeing that “what if Beyoncé chased the charts?” thread and I’m a bit gagged that ANYONE actually thinks she tries after seeing how she handled Formation :rip: Did the schools not reopen after Covid died down? Is that it?

I think it might a bit less predictable for a $30 non-refundable or exchangeable movie ticket that goes on sale 2 months in advance.

this isn't your average AMC movie. even I haven't planned my bigger outing with friends yet because I know our schedules can change drastically in 2 months. but trust, I'll gather them and go again opening weekend.

i haven't bought my ticket either...i've never bought a movie presale ever. i'm going with friends & we'll buy tickets once the movie is out and everybody has an idea of their schedule and how many are joining the group. everybody is not doing the presale thing...they are going to buy when the movie is actually OUT like normal movie goers. we went through the whiny crap when yall were nervous & shitting yourselves over the slow concert cities....now some of you are still with the BS over these movie tickets? breathe & rest

the fake music execs are now pivoting over to film industry experts now? how pathetic & cringe can one get. this is NOT your career. find your own purpose.

I wish it can also be released on Paramount +, Peacock, or Amazon Prime.

If y’all had ran into Yvette at your show would you have kissed her ass, pretended she didn’t exist, or ask to be her assistant so you can assist her with assisting the queen since she sucks at it? I think I’d kiss ass tbh
