I can’t think a better way of starting the new year then with mother herself :jonny5:

Hopefully, she'll change the setlist a little bit for each show because I want her to perform I'll Be Waiting and Strangers by Nature :chick3:

Help not her being sick last week…:jonny5:

thank god she made it through for opening weekend

She needs to complete this residency without a hitch

She def probs felt pressure to brave through it tho. Can you imagine if she cancelled a few days/hours before the opening of this residency again??!!! She’d risk being cancelled entirely

It always amazes me how much viral her live performances always becomes LOL she’s truly one of a kind.

I love the show, particularly the stage design and production.

I have to say that I’m very disappointed in her vocals :cries: Like, genuinely disappointed.

I really don’t know what to really say. I thought the acoustics would help her and she would sound amazing, but it’s genuinely the worst I’ve ever heard her. I have made no secret that I prefer Adele’s pre-vocal surgery voice to her post-surgery voice, but she could still blow me away at times. But watching the clips from Vegas, I found myself feeling mildly uncomfortable at some of her vocals.

It doesn’t help that she’s moving about so much. I’ll forever miss Adele when she played small venues and just wore whatever the hell she damn pleased. No glitz, not glam. Just her.

Now, she’s an entire entity. A brand. A cash cow. At some points, it feels as though she’s barely making an effort to sing well. I know she is just trying to preserve her voice, but that’s how it comes across.

Which songs specifically? Easy on Me/Set Fire to the Rain was kinda rough first night.

But @Bey Admired, she's not 21 anymore. Her voice is getting deeper and deeper naturally. Maybe that's the issue. And the phone recordings pick up the instruments better than vocals. And a cash cow? No, please don't say that.

How is this rough? When did y'all become vocal coaches??

This is very pitchy compared to the performances on the other two specials. Set Fire to the Rain she was under the note the entire time.  She will get better. She's never been a pitch perfect singer.

it matters so much how and where in the arena the audio is being recorded. and some phones are better than others.

She did mention during the show that she was with a cold so having to sing congestionated isn’t easy LOL

I think overall her vocals on the 30 era have been much more healthy than on 21/25. Hyde Park was the best she ever sounded IMO so I’m sure she will be sounding much better next week.

I disagree about this. She’s doing a show in Vegas. You can’t fault her for wanting to wear a gown for it. That’s clearly been her style ever since 21 tbh she loves to pay homage to old Hollywood thru outfits and hairstyles but even with that she still keeps things simple like performing barefoot thru the entire show.

And tbh giving the initial plans they had for the residency where they wanted her to fly thru a giant lake and stuff like that - and how she cancelled it to redo the entire thing and make it music-centred, I think she did a fantastic job in making a residency in Vegas feel big yet intimate and true to her essence at the same time.

Yeah, it's tastefully done. I love how the chandelier during IDW is made of wine glasses.

I kinda feel the same way... I've already noticed it when I watched One Night Only and An Audience with Adele but she's sometimes having a hard time staying on key when she performs live, while she never had that problem before. And I watched a lot of her old performances, I mean, those were what made me a fan in the first place (I can't even remember how many times I watched/listened to the Royal Albert Hall concert :toofunny3:). She still can serve beautiful vocal moments but her live performances haven't blown me away for a long time.

An Audience with Adele is her best show ever IMO :jonny4: it has her best Set Fire To The Rain performance and her best Rolling In The Deep one.

Love In The Dark plays up to her tone so well. I’m so glad tik tok got it to go viral and now she’s finally performing the song.

Did you not watch any TV performances from 2015/2016? She was shaky af. The tour itself went a lot better.

Yeah like people are so stuck in 2011 here.
