Navyofbadgals Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 PUSH THE BUTTON - such an amazing song. Still sounds good today, we need people to bring this sound back as well and not just the 00s pop rock MINE - incredibly boring and faceless sorry. At least it's not offensively bad i guess ABOUT YOU NOW - now how am I going to rank the two godly sugagods songs sent.. PURE SHORES - maybe this would've been better if I had some sort of nostalgic connection to it, but I don't so this is boring to me and dated x the last minute was cute.. I'll give it that HOT PINK - SOPHIE snapped on this. Such a fun and cool pop song. Anyone panning this has no taste yup SYMPHONY - it's so corny but I do like this. One of clean bandit's better instrumentals that doesn't lose their touch without overdoing it. It's no Rather Be tho! SHIP TO WRECK - I really rarely connect with Florence cause most of it is just boring. This at the very least is memorable, too bad it just feels like a screamfest at a certain point. YOU BRING ME JOY - was ready to hate on this but it's a cute little bop tbh. For a dance song from 2012 this didn't age all that badly tbh. I like x SAY YOU'LL BE THERE - classic yeah, one of their best HEARTBREAK IN THIS CITY - total mess of a song, feels like multiple songs in one. It just.. does not make sense.. ON THE METRO - the verses are kinda a mess the over the top LMFAO'd production is kinda fun and the chorus is decent too. Not great but tolerable COSMIC LOVE - actually quite lovely for a Florence song x right balance of everything and the instrumental is really stunning at moments. Nice pick x MAGNETS - their best song besides the sam smith collabs yup!! such a great song that doesn't lose the essence of Lorde either. Great collab imo 2 BECOME 1 - this is very, VERY corny Mostly hate these types of 90s ballads with a few exceptions here and there. I'm gonna pass on this one WITH UR LOVE - felt like one of her weakest back then, and also hasn't aged all that well imo. It's not terrible but it's just a tad bit messy CALL THE SHOTS - pretty solid pop song x I'M COMING HOME TO YOU - she has very pretty vocals but that's about it with this song. It's very.. final talent show ballad. Been there done that. also the way her monthly listeners are going to RISE considering she only has 311 now sjsjs WANT U BACK - yeah this also hasn't aged all that well but it's a lot more fun than the other song by her. R U MINE? - okay risk-taker. This being in the midst of all these over the top uk pop songs really makes it stand out. This time for the better though. One of their best. Such a great song SAX - aww sorry to see this getting panned. It's def very commercial and generic but it's also just a lot of fun I bopped BETTER IN TIME - so beautiful one of my fav ballads of all time idc idc! SHAKE IT OUT - I'm.. not living. It's memorable and not the worst song here, I'll leave it at that Spoiler @Touch It @Kavish @Alena @Auburn @Noah @Tom Vercetti @Drifloon @Dessy @Taylucifer @luckystrike @kipperskipper @Billionaire @Not Like The Movies @Future Lover @K$Ellie @touya kinomoto @Zolvnski @Guero @Mr. Duff @PinkBox @Element @Psycho @Rotunda

ZORBIT Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Feeling positive about the reception so far, especially the Judges serving taste towards-
Mr. Duff Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Sugababes - Push The Button I hated this when it came out, but now I kinda bop Fleur East - Mine cute, good background music Sugababes - About You Now the better Sugababes song this round All Saints - Pure Shores I haven't heard this song in a long time, very nostalgic Lets Eat Grandma - Hot Pink nah Clean Bandit - Symphony this getting wrecked but I like it, although it's pretty much a product of its time Florence + The Machine - Ship To Wreck woah Florence screaming, I kinda like it Amelia Lily - You Bring Me Joy ehh, no Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There I never cared for the Spice Girls, and this one is not good Steps - Heartbreak In This City ABBA-sounding, I kinda dig it Girls Aloud - On The Metro Ehhhhh Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love hmmm, I don't like it Disclosure - Magnets nah Spice Girls - 2 Become 1 a classic, even when it's cheesy Cher Lloyd - With Ur Love sounds like a product of its time, it's fun though Girls Aloud - Call The Shots I know this is the kind of song ATRL loves but this is kinda awful Christina Marie - I'm Coming Home To You Wow, is this Broken-Hearted Girl brit version? Bey version >>>>> (although I kinda like this) Cher Lloyd - Want U Back the angst. I like the attitude Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine? Will probably be panned by others but you'll get high points for me Fleur East - Sax I tried sending this but it's just so awful, although I feel like ATRL would eat songs like this? Leona Lewis - Better In Time beautiful. I was scared of sending Leona anymore because of how Happy fared, but points for you Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out classic, the best Florence song

smholiv Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 REVIEWS: Spoiler Sugababes - Push the Button Yeah this is a banger sljkf. It’s very campy but even with that aside it’s just a really enjoyable dance pop bop. Great choice~ Fleur East - Mine It’s definitely on the generic side, feeling a bit like playlist filler. But I mean it’s a cool vibe and her vocals add a little bit of something so I don’t mind that. However it’ll probably be somewhere in the middle for me. Sugababes - About You Now The Miranda version really is better idk why But I like the electronic/pop-rock production and the chorus is fun All Saints - Pure Shores This really does feel like something from Ray of Light (and maybe just a hint of drugstore playlist). It’s a mood for sure, really chill but in a very rewarding way Lets Eat Grandma - Hot Pink Super cool, I love the dramatic production, a round highlight! Clean Bandit - Symphony The chorus is the clear highlight. This is VERY much a British pop song ff - so at times it gets a little close to H&M music for me. Florence + The Machine - Ship to Wreck I’m not… really a Florence fan most of what i’ve heard from them is a bit too overblown for me and not music I enjoy listening to, but I appreciate that people would find it interesting. I like the production of this though, it’s pretty cool, but as a whole the song is just not really a standout to me Amelia Lily - You Bring Me Joy Straight out of 2012. Chorus is fun but this probably doesn’t stand up to some of the other songs in this round so far. Spice Girls - Say You’ll Be There Maybe I just haven’t heard the right Spice Girls songs yet because I kind of really like this It has a cool attitude to it Steps - Heartbreak In This City Paint by numbers dance pop. I love that the lyrics feel like an AI was tasked with crafting a pop song by analyzing typical pop music lines. Girls Aloud - On The Metro bsbsbs wait this kind of sounds like a 2013 kpop song, I love it~ Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love Once again the production/instrumental is the biggest highlight for me. I like the use of harp etc, to give it a fantastical vibe. But yeah its the vocal performance idk Disclosure - Magnets I’m glad someone sent Disclosure (though disappointed there was only one song) - they were the group I was talking about! This is a cool song, I enjoy it, but it doesn’t hit me as hard as other songs of theirs. It’ll still end up doing pretty well for me, but I felt like I was wanting more. Spice Girls - 2 become 1 It’s your average 90s ballad. Sorry but a lot of these just fail to capture anything for me. These kinds of songs are really dependent on an individuals’ connection to the artist. Cher Lloyd - With Ur Love Her voice takes time to get used to. I’m not a fan of this Girls Aloud - Call the Shots Also a euphoric dance pop bop. Great choice. I need to dive into their discography because I liked both songs sent! Christina Marie - I’m Coming Home to You Dramatic ballads are a bit hard for me to get into out of context. But I do think she has nice vocals. Cher Lloyd - Want U Back I like this more than the other Cher song sent this round. This reminds me a bit of Party in the USA Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine? Yeah it’s actually really funny that only one male vocal song was sent jfjfj. But you made a good choice! I like this, it’s a solid garage rock style song and will be high for me. Fleur East - Sax Definitely Old Navy flair to this. But I like it more than her other song sent because it has a bit more personality and distinction to it. The horn section instrumental break is kind of really fun Leona Lewis - Better in Time I like her vocals for sure. There’s parts of this that lean too much into the “AC” territory for me to truly love, but as a whole it’s a nice song. Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out This feels like it’d suit a movie soundtrack well. It’s not totally for me, but I think I like this the best of their three songs sent this round. ATRL Moderator Element Posted September 8, 2021 ATRL Moderator Posted September 8, 2021 Sugababes - Push The Button This is a lot of fun and catchy. However, I find the production to just... not be pleasant, especially some of their harmonies that are designed to be offkey. I think this song would benefit from an upgraded, modern production. Fleur East - Mine I actually really liked this!! The verses were a bit stronger than the chorus, but it was enjoyable. Big risk to send a song that few ppl know. Sugababes - About You Now I really love this track -- and much more than Push the Button. Great choice! Side note: the Miranda Cosgrove version is even better than this great original so everyone stream xx All Saints - Pure Shores This song is lovely and chill. I've never been as much of a stan as I know others are. Overall, fine but nothing remarkable 4 me. Lets Eat Grandma - Hot Pink Mmm.... i was expecting this to be absolutely awful based on some other comments. While it isn't that bad, I'm really not a fan of the chorus at all. Pots and pans music is not for me. Clean Bandit - Symphony It's pretty but honestly kind of boring... and I've always felt that way about this song so here is my truth on display x Florence + The Machine - Ship To Wreck Really love the chorus, but the rest is a bit unremarkable. Decent entry overall. Amelia Lily - You Bring Me Joy YASSSS. I loved this song back in 2012 or 2013 or whatever. I was too scared to send it tbh so I'm going to give you a high ranking in solidarity for ur risk. Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There My HIGH ranking slay in season 5... an absolutely amazing song. It holds up so well in the current era and makes me so happy! Steps - Heartbreak In This City This was nice! A new one for me. Need to listen a few more times. Girls Aloud - On The Metro OMG so I discovered this song literally only a week ago and absolutely love it. So you benefit from my recent obsession. The corny delivery, the catchy af chorus, the fun storyline... it's a camp classic methinks! Great choice. Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love Absolutely beautiful and anthemic Disclosure - Magnets Definitely one of Disclosure and Lorde's best!! Spice Girls - 2 Become 1 My initial inclination was to send a Spice Girls song, so I actually did send this at first. Something wasn't sitting right with that choice, and I'm very glad I changed after seeing the rest of the entries. This song is fine, but kind of gets lost in the shuffle of many other classics. When I sent it, I felt like I was sending it simply to say that I sent a Spice Girls entry. Cher Lloyd - With Ur Love So confused about the versions of this??? Lol I got Juicy J even though Mike Posner is credited on Spotify. Anyway, both features bring this song down a bit. It's fun, although Superhero outsold. Girls Aloud - Call The Shots This pales in comparison to On The Metro sorry to say Christina Marie - I'm Coming Home To You This was ok but i've listened a few times and it's just not sticking w me... the verses remind me of some other song hmm Cher Lloyd - Want U Back Hate that stupid "do i sound like a helicopter outro"... it's still a bit of a bop all these years later. Once again though, Superhero outsold. Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine? Not for me Fleur East - Sax A bit fun at times, but a bit grating as well Leona Lewis - Better In Time I still like this tbh!! Probably middle of the pack for me Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out I think this is my 2nd favorite Florence song of the round - really great and anthemic!
touya kinomoto Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Spoiler Sugababes - Push The Button • A bop and a classic. This surprisingly aged well. I won't be mad and surprised if this wins. Fleur East - Mine • Wow, this feels a non-event. I played it and it was over. I don't remember anything about this. If you are going to send lesser known artists, maybe try sending songs that will be memorable. Case in point: @Touch It sending Poor Fake by Kelsey Lu. That was a classic moment. Sugababes - About You Now • Miranda's cover outsold a bit but this is still good. Sugababes were the moment and they are icons. C'mon now. All Saints - Pure Shores • I see people trying with this song. This will be my number 1 idc idc. Lets Eat Grandma - Hot Pink • The production is the best part of this song. SOPHIE did that. The rest is really unremarkable but I like this a lot. Clean Bandit - Symphony • Ma'am, Rather Be was available so why choose this as their entry. Unless you are a Zara Larsson stan then I understand. The chorus is a major highlight especially the last one. I still like it and definitely prefer it much more than the other songs here but I still wish you have sent their best song. Florence + The Machine - Ship To Wreck • Probably my fave track fro HBHBHB but my least fave Florence entry this round. However, I still love this song so I think you'll still rank high for me. Amelia Lily - You Bring Me Joy • I don't like her deadpan one-note delivery even in the chorus. The production is kinda generic too. I fear this is the song I enjoyed the least so far. Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There • A classic bop and probably top 5 in their discography. Steps - Heartbreak In This City • What I appreciate about this is that it still sounds like a Steps song but updated to a contemporary sound. Still a bit a generic but I kinda bop so... Girls Aloud - On The Metro • This is no Biology but still a bop. Actually a slut bop. You know, those songs that wanna makes you dance like a slut. Yeah, very that. Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love • We decided to ascend. This is just wonderful. The choices for Florence snapped. Disclosure - Magnets • I like this song. Lorde perfectly fits this song. However, how I wish you could have sent Latch and based on the discussion we had about the song, that could have been a winner. Spice Girls - 2 Become 1 • My young self not knowing this was a sex song kii. Kinda boring tbh but nostalgia is working hard on this one so you will gonna get a decent rank from me. Cher Lloyd - With Ur Love • I will be very honest and say that Cher Lloyd is one of those artists that is an undeniable guilty pleasure for me. She makes some cringy songs but I can't help but still like them and this is one of them lol. I remember my cousin watching the video for this song over and over again. Maybe it's the reason why I kinda love this kii. Girls Aloud - Call The Shots • Oh perry. This is another slut bop for me. I live. Christina Marie - I'm Coming Home To You • She sounds great but this is rather boring. I'm sorry, bruv. Cher Lloyd - Want U Back • The better Cher song this round. Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine? • Oh yes, it's the classic for me. One of their best songs ever. Fleur East - Sax • It's better than the other Fleur East, that I can say. But stacked against the other songs this round? Hmm... Leona Lewis - Better In Time • Hmm, I'm not sure what to make of this song. Obviously, there aren't much choices for her. Right now, I'm not feeling this song. She sounds great as usual. Everything else feels meh though. Spoiler lol jk i like this one. definitely better than the leona song sent the other round. Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out • My favorite F+TM song after Dog Days Are Over. It was the first song I listened to when I decided to sought their discography out after hearing DDAO for the first time.
thecptz Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Spoiler Sugababes - Push The Button no cause this.... this is just so iconic. my life has become so much better once i discovered this song, it's true. what a great start to this round tbh. it's a classic and it makes lots of points Fleur East - Mine oh wow i havent listened to this album yet. poor fleur her second album really made no noise and its sad to see this.. this is cute! i rlly like the pre-chorus and chorus, very addictive. but the song is very mediocre so hmm, we'll see! Sugababes - About You Now another classic whew even though mother miranda ATE the cover, this version is still so goooood. like omg, the flavours that it has and it ages so well, another good pick! All Saints - Pure Shores well i'm trying to like this but it's just not for me, i'm sorry i'm sure it will be for other people tho! Lets Eat Grandma - Hot Pink it used to hit harder for me idk why i dont feel the same now to when i first heard it it's still okay tho but like when it just doesnt feel the same, it sucks.. i'm sad!! Clean Bandit - Symphony whew... now THIS still hitting hard today. prob one of my favorite songs by both clean bandit and zara god its just so good? like the production is heavenly plus zara's vocals.. chefs kiss tbh!!! Florence + The Machine - Ship To Wreck oh this is such an enjoyable listen. its a great submission and a great choice from her so im gonna give a thumb up to you. idk how its gonna do in my rankings but its a great song. Amelia Lily - You Bring Me Joy ok so i expected worse but this is not bad at all? like it exceeded my expectation and its actually a nice song lmaooo so like maybe you did something!!! idk but you def brought me joy. Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There urgh this is so cute and literally brought back so many good memories literally a great pick from them it's a classic that everyone loves and we all know why! so good. Steps - Heartbreak In This City sobs... i'm sure it will be exactly other people's type of music. it's just not mine i'm sorry! Girls Aloud - On The Metro when the song started, i was like hmmm.. this is gonna be bad huh but then it picked up and it became better so thank YOU for that cause if it didn't have that change, the song would've been worse. anyways, this is cute. Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love the production is so beautiful and so cinematic. it's literally so good and it's florence at her best! so yea, i think another great florence pick for this round and you'll prob be fine so i'm happy for you. Disclosure - Magnets omg what do you want from me? you got everything just take everything from me teen hottie, my beloved. this song is SOOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING! the drop, the teen hottie, the video. exactly. Spice Girls - 2 Become 1 oh damn, this is not for me at all.. i'm sorry Cher Lloyd - With Ur Love omg OMG this song is soooo cute like its the CUTEST. i'm in love and i'm blushing so hard, yes its true. she has my heart and i'll gladly let her have it. this is a classic and idc what any of yall said. Girls Aloud - Call The Shots very mixed about this like it can be eh but sometimes, it's tolerable hmm! we'll see. Christina Marie - I'm Coming Home To You i was worried when it started but then it kinda went better after the song went on for some time.. yea it definitely would do a bit better if we didn't have lots of classics this round whew Cher Lloyd - Want U Back whew two classics from miss cher lloyd this round!! i like both songs equally and it really depends on my mood urgh i'm gonna have a hard time choosing which one im gonna rank higher this is a great and nice, fun bop! Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine? yea i know that this song is pretty big and all the indie listeners like it. it's a risk sending men here tho and for me, the risk doesn't pay off sadly Fleur East - Sax whew, a better fleur pick for this round and also a great song idc if yall hate on this song but its so good and i stand by it.. she deserves the world!! Leona Lewis - Better In Time wHew, i think this is a great pick for leona tbh. Obviously, there aren't much choices for her. Right now, i'm feeling this song and i think it's absolutely a great ballad. She sounds great as usual. Everything else also feel good to listen to. we'll see how i'm gonna rank it Florence + The Machine - Shake It Out AHHHHHHHHHH the best florence choice for this round and i could see this win the round tbh.. such an amazing song good luck everyone Spoiler @Kavish @Future Lover @touya kinomoto @Psycho @Taylucifer @Alena @Dessy @Noah @Element @Auburn @ZORBIT @Not Like The Movies @kipperskipper @Mr. Duff @Rotunda @K$Ellie @Guero @Tom Vercetti @Touch It @Drifloon @PinkBox @luckystrike
